Shell Shell
' Purpose:
Begins execution of the shell (top-level command processor) from
f~*\ a file defined by the specified pathname.
Syntax:
^-v shell = [drive: pathname
Comments:
^—s The pathname option specifies the program that ms-dos uses
as a command processor. Instead of reading the standard
command com, ms-dos starts the processor specified in pathname.
^—n System programmers who write their own command processors
(instead of using the ms-dos file, commandcom) should also use
shell
