How
to
Create
a
File
with
Edlin
Creating
a
file
with
edlin
ms-dos
includes
a
program
called
edlin.exe,
a
line
editor
that
lets
you
create
and
edit
files.
Edlin
is
called
a
line
editor
because
it
lets
you
edit
files
line
by
line.
To
help
you
learn
how
to
use
edlin,
the
following
section
takes
you
through
a
sample
editing
session
in
which
you'll
use
edlin
to
create
a
small
file.
Suppose
a
client
asks
you
to
write
a
catchy
advertisement
for
an
electric
pencil
sharpener,
so
you
decide
to
create
a
file
named
pencil
ad
on
the
disk
in
the
default
drive.
You
want
the
file
to
contain
the
following
lines:
Introducing...
The
X-1000
Automatic
Pencil
Sharpener
From
Sharpe
Office
Supplies
The
World
