The VIC 20
User
Guide
The VIC
20
has four tone registers: low, medium, and high tones, and a
white noise generator. Location
36878
sets the volume level for all four
registers. Location 36877
is
the noise register, and locations 36874 through
36876 are the tone registers.
POKE
values and the notes they produce are
shown in Table E-4.
The VIC can use certain keyword abbreviations. These can save time
when entering lines
of
code.
In
most cases, they consist
of
the first letter
of
the command
and
the shifted second letter
of
the command.
In
some cases
you need
to
enter the first two letters
of
the command and the shifted third
letter. See Table E-5 for each command and note
that
the display does not
contain the second (or third) character, but a graphic character instead.
