Telecom Requirements
The Series 2930A provides an integrated modem. For the
purposes of New Zealand Telecom approval, the Series 2930A is
classified as a host-dependent product.
Telephone Network Connection
The grant of a New Zealand Telepermit for a device in no way
indicates NZ Telecom acceptance of responsibility for the correct
operation of that device under all operating conditions. In
particular the higher speeds at which this modem is capable of
operation depends on a specific network implementation which is
only one of may ways of delivering high quality voice telephony
to customers. Failure to operate should not be reported as a fault
to New Zealand Telecom.
In addition to satisfactory line conditions a modem can only work
properly if:
1. It is compatible with the modem at the other end of the call,
and
2. The application using the modem is compatible with the
application at the other end of the call, for example, accessing
the Internet requires suitable software in addition to a modem.
