Setting up your CUDDY or CUDDY Lite

Step 1: Unpacking and Filter Check

Unpack the unit, locate carbon filter, check for obstructions.

Step 2: Removing the Solids Bin

Remove solids bin, unlock by extending handle and rotating 180 degrees.

Step 3: Adding Aggregate/Bag

Add carbon-rich material or compostable bag to the solids bin base.

Step 4: Connect 12V Power Cable

Connect the 12V power cable to a fused power supply.

Step 5: Insert Power Connector

Insert the male connector into the power connection at the rear.

Step 6: Confirm Fan Operation

Check for airflow to confirm the fan is working correctly.

Step 7: Insert 9V Battery

Insert a 9V battery and check the LED liquid-full indicator light.

Step 8: Secure Carbon Filter

Press the carbon filter onto the circular fitting to secure it.

Step 9: Replace Solids Bin

Replace the solids bin, orienting agitator legs downwards for CUDDY.

Step 10: Final Wipe Down

Wipe down the unit, lower the lid, and it's ready for use.

Number 1: Urine diversion and plates

CUDDY's seat diverts liquids; close plates when urinating to minimize solids chamber liquid.

Number 2: Agitation and aggregate

Rotate knob to open plates; mix solids with agitator after use; add aggregate for CUDDY Lite.

Empty urine tank when LED indicator turns on; pour slowly to avoid splashback.

Troubleshooting

Aggregate is too dry

If solids bin is too dry, add water and mix to prevent smell.

Excess moisture

If solids bin is too moist, add extra cover material and mix.

Fruit flies

Address fruit flies by checking vent hose filter or adding Diatomaceous Earth.

Fan not working
