Overview

The 232-ATSC 4K HDTV Tuner is a 5th-generation ATSC HDTV tuner designed for commercial-grade applications, offering advanced capabilities for receiving and outputting high-definition video and audio. It supports decoding of H.264 programs up to 1080p and output scaling up to 4K, along with IPTV stream output. The tuner maintains full compatibility with control commands from previous models in the 232-ATSC series.

Function Description:

The tuner is capable of receiving both analog and digital MPEG-2/H.264 channels in ATSC, NTSC, and clear QAM formats. It supports air channels 2-69 and cable channels 2-135 (Standard, HRC, and IRC). An optional RF-AB switch allows for seamless switching between antenna and cable feeds.

For video output, it features HDMI Type A, Version 1.4b, analog component RCA, and HD15 RGBHV (VGA) outputs, which can be selected as YPbPr or RGB. An analog composite video output is also available. The output resolution can be scaled to 480i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, 2160p, or set to Auto (Native resolution).

Audio capabilities include HDMI embedded AC-3 pass-through, PCM Fixed, or PCM Variable, as well as SPDIF coaxial and optical AC3 pass-through, PCM Fixed, or PCM Variable. Variable analog stereo outputs are also provided.

The tuner decodes both analog and digital closed captioning, with caption data available as Line 21 closed caption data on the composite video output. For CEA-708 digital captions, options for font, color, style, and other appearance settings are available.

IPTV streaming functionality allows the 232-ATSC 4K to pass through the MPEG transport stream of a received digital RF channel as a UDP MPEG-TS IPTV stream via the Ethernet output. The destination IP address can be unicast or multicast, with a port range of 1 to 65534. The output stream can be configured to contain all programs, an individual program, or the tuned program from the digital channel.
