This document is an owner's manual for a Contoure Digital Extra-Large Capacity Ventless Washer/Dryer Combo, available in models RV-WD900W (White) and RV-WD900S (Titanium). It provides comprehensive instructions for safe installation, operation, and maintenance of the appliance.

Function Description

The Contoure washer/dryer combo is designed for washing and drying textiles, offering a ventless operation suitable for various installation environments. It features a range of washing programs tailored for different fabric types and soil levels, as well as drying functions. The appliance aims to provide efficient cleaning and drying while incorporating safety and convenience features.

Usage Features

The washer/dryer combo offers a user-friendly control panel with various settings and programs to customize the washing and drying experience.

  • Programs: The appliance includes multiple washing programs such as:

    • Normal/Cotton: For hard-wearing, heat-resistant textiles made of cotton or linen.
    • Heavy Duty: Designed for heavy clothing like towels.
    • Bulky/Large: For large clothing items.
    • Sports Wear: For activewear.
    • Spin Only: Provides an extra spin with selectable speed.
    • Rinse&Spin: Offers an extra rinse followed by a spin.
    • Tub Clean: A special program for cleaning the drum and tube with high-temperature sterilization, recommended for regular use with chlorine bleaching agent for better effect. No clothes or other washing should be added during this cycle.
    • Quick Wash: A short program suitable for lightly soiled small amounts of laundry.
    • Delicates: For delicate, washable textiles like silk, satin, synthetic fibers, or blended fabrics.
    • Sanitary: Utilizes active enzyme washing powder with a 60° load and prewash function for difficult-to-wash clothes.
    • Wool: Specifically for wool textiles labeled "Machine Wash," requiring proper temperature and detergent selection.
    • Perm Press: Offers moderate washing strength to reduce wrinkles.
    • Baby Wear: For baby clothes, designed for better cleaning and rinse performance to protect sensitive skin.
    • Auto Dry: Automatically dries clothes, with drying time adjusted based on the load.
    • My Cycle: Allows users to save a customized program by pressing Spin for 3 seconds. The default is Perm Press.
    • Cold Wash: Uses cold water during the wash cycle.
    • Drain Only: Drains off the water.
    • Timed Dry: Offers specific drying programs based on load weight and desired moisture content, with options for 0.8kg, 1kg, and 3kg mixes.
  • Function Settings: Users can adjust various parameters for each program:

    • Time Save: A feature to potentially shorten cycle times.
    • Delay: Allows setting a delayed start time from 0-24 hours. To set, select a program, press Delay to choose the time, then Start/Pause. To cancel, press Delay until "OH" is displayed before starting the program, or press On/Off if the program has already started. The machine has a memory function for selected programs in case of power interruption.
    • Temp.: Adjusts the water temperature for washing.
    • Spin: Controls the spin speed.
    • Soil: Offers different levels (light to heavy) to adjust washing time based on the dirtiness of clothes. The default is light.
    • Dry: Allows selection of dry levels: Extra Dry, Normal Dry, or Gentle Dry.
    • Extra Rinse: Adds an extra rinse cycle.
    • Add a garment: This function allows adding clothes during the washing procedure. To use, press "Start/Pause" for 3 seconds to reload. Wait for the drum to stop and the door lock to unlock, then close the door and repress "Start/Pause." This function should not be used if the water level is over the edge of the inner tub or if the temperature is high.
    • Mute: Mutes the buzzer by pressing the [Soil] button for 3 seconds.
  • Safety and Convenience Features:

    • Child Lock: Prevents accidental operation by locking all buttons except On/Off. It can be activated by pressing "Function" and "Select" together for 3 seconds during a running procedure. The lock is released by pressing the same two buttons for 3 seconds. Powering off the machine also releases the child lock.
    • On/Off Button: Powers the machine on and off.
    • Start/Pause Button: Initiates or pauses the wash cycle.
    • Detergent Drawer: Divided into compartments for pre-detergent/washing powder (Case I), main detergent/softener/pre-dip/bleaching/decontaminating products (Case II), and washing additives like fabric softener or tackifier (Case ∞).
    • Pre-wash Preparation: Emphasizes checking clothes for decolorization, washing delicate or imported items separately, pre-treating stains, and adhering to temperature labels. It also lists clothes not suitable for machine washing, such as those that distort in water (ties, waistcoats, certain dresses), items with decorations, or water-proof materials (ski suits, raincoats).
    • Detergent Guidance: Recommends "low bubble" detergents suitable for drum washing machines and specific fabric types. Advises minimal use of bleacher and proper rinsing for powder detergents. Suggests diluting agglomerated or ropy detergents to prevent blockages.
    • Pocket Check: Reminds users to empty pockets of rigid items to prevent machine damage.
    • Clothes Classification: Encourages sorting clothes by care label symbols (cotton, synthetic, silk, wool), color (white and colorful separately), and size for optimal washing.
    • Fastener Management: Advises zipping zippers, fixing buttons/hooks, and binding loose bands/ribbons.
    • Delicate Item Protection: Recommends using a pillow slip for bras to prevent damage from steel wires and string bags for delicate textiles like laced curtains, small articles, and handkerchiefs.
    • Load Balancing: Suggests adding one or two more clothes when washing a single big and heavy item to prevent eccentricity and unbalance during draining.
    • Dust, Stain, Pet Hair Removal: Advises cleaning these off clothes to improve washing effects and prevent damage.
    • Baby Skin Protection: Recommends washing baby clothes separately and increasing rinse times to remove detergent residues. Suggests hand-washing easily stained parts like collars and sleeves.
    • Fuzzy Clothes: Advises washing easily fuzzed clothes separately and turning them inside out to prevent lint transfer. Also recommends separating black and cotton clothes.

Maintenance Features

The manual outlines several maintenance procedures to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the appliance.

  • General Maintenance:

    • Always unplug the power and close the tap before any maintenance.
    • Cabinet Cleaning: Clean the surface with diluted non-abrasive neutral detergents. Wipe off any water overflow immediately. Avoid sharp items. Formic acid and its diluted solvents are forbidden.
    • Internal Drum Cleaning: Remove rusts from metal articles immediately using chlorine-free detergents. Do not use steel wool.
    • Frozen Machine Disposal: If the machine freezes, disconnect power, loosen the inlet pipe with warm water, remove the inlet pipe and immerse it in warm water, pour warm water into the drum and wait 10 minutes, then reconnect and check for normal operation. Ensure ambient temperature is above 0°C before reuse.
    • Anti-freeze: To prevent freezing, drain remaining water from the drain pipe and inlet pipe. This involves closing the tap, unscrewing the inlet pipe from the tap, placing its end into a container, running any program except "Wash" or "Drain" for about 40 seconds to drain water, then reconnecting the inlet pipe.
    • Drain Pump Water Removal: To avoid burns, wait until hot water inside the machine cools down before proceeding.
  • Filter Cleaning:

    • Detergent Box and Grooves: Press down the arrow on the softener cover, lift the clip, remove the cover, wash all grooves with water, then restore the cover and push the drawer back.
    • Inlet Filter: Clean if there is insufficient water supply. This involves closing the tap, selecting any program except "Wash" or "Drain," pressing "Start/Pause" for 40 seconds, removing the inlet pipe from the tap, and washing the filter with water.
    • Washing Machine Filter (Inlet Pipe Filter): Unscrew the inlet pipe from the back of the machine, pull out the filter with long nose pliers, wash it, and reinstall. Reconnect the inlet pipe, open the tap to check for leaks, then close the tap.
    • Drain Pump Filter: This filter collects yarns and small foreign matters. It should be inspected and cleaned periodically, especially if the machine doesn't empty/spin or makes unusual noises due to blockages (safety pins, coins). The process involves opening the lower cover cap, rotating and pulling out the emergency drain hose, removing the hose cap to drain water, then opening the filter by turning counter-clockwise, removing extraneous matter, and finally closing the filter and lower cover cap.
  • Emergency Door Release: In case of power failure or other circumstances preventing the door from opening, pull down the pull cord inside the emergency door. Restore the pull cord after opening. It is crucial not to use this during washing and to wait for water to cool down to avoid burns from residual hot water.
