What to do if the CookRite Griddle ignites the pilot light but not the main fire?

      Danielle StewartJul 29, 2025
If the pilot light ignites but the main fire doesn't on your CookRite Griddle, there are several possible causes. It could be due to insufficient gas pressure in the pipe, in which case you should contact the local gas supply department. Alternatively, the main fire nozzle might be occluded, requiring you to dredge the nozzle. Other potential issues include problematic gas control valves (change gas control valves), excessive distance between the pilot light and the main fire (adjust their distance), or a flame that is too low (adjust the height of the pilot light).

Why is there yellow flame and black smoke on my CookRite Griddle?
    • F
      fwoodAug 7, 2025
If you observe a yellow flame and black smoke coming from your CookRite Griddle, it could be due to several reasons. One possibility is that you're using gas from the bottom of the tank, in which case you should change the gas. Another reason might be a mismatch between the nozzle diameter and gas resources, requiring you to adjust the nozzle diameter. Insufficient air for ignition could also be the cause, so try increasing the damper opening degree. Lastly, during peak gas usage, gas sources may float heavy, so try turning down the valve flow and increasing it after the peak.

What to do if I close gas and hear a sound of fire on my CookRite Griddle?
    • R
      Ruth WilliamsAug 18, 2025
If you hear a sound of fire after closing the gas on your CookRite Griddle, it could be due to several reasons. This may be caused by insufficient gas pressure in the pipe, so contact the local gas supply department. Also, it could be that the nozzle aperture doesn't match the gas resources, so adjust the nozzle diameter. The flow of the connection pipe might not be enough, so increase the pipe’s allowable flow. The damper opening degree may be too large, so adjust the damper.
