The Cookshop CK001 17 Litre Halogen Oven is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for healthy, time- and energy-efficient cooking with minimal mess. It combines halogen and convection cooking modes, allowing it to function as an electric grill, rice cooker, and conventional oven. The oven's detachable glass container and plastic base enable cooking and serving directly at the dining table.
Function Description:
The Halogen Oven utilizes both convection and conduction to transfer heat to food, penetrating it directly. This method eliminates the need for oil in many cooking processes and results in faster cooking times. The circular heating element and internal venting system ensure even heat distribution from various directions within the glass bowl. The convection cooking mode uses circulating hot air, which cooks food quickly and efficiently, consuming less energy than conventional ovens. This method also allows for multi-level cooking, simplifying meal preparation and reducing the number of pots and pans required. The hot air circulation seals the surface of foods like meat, retaining their succulence.
The appliance features a thermostat with a temperature range of 125°C to 250°C and a 60-minute timer with a reminder bell. It includes a 5-litre extender ring, which increases the glass bowl's capacity from 12 litres to 17 litres, accommodating larger food items or those that rise during cooking, such as bread or cakes.

- Cooking Guidelines:
- Temperature: Set between 125°C and 250°C.
- Timer: Up to 60 minutes with a reminder bell.
- Placement: Place food on a rack in the centre of the bowl for best air circulation, leaving 1cm space between food and bowl.
- Pre-heating: Generally not necessary for convection oven baking or grilling.
- Frozen Food: Some foods cook best from frozen, but large items like meat joints or poultry should be thawed first. Cooking times for frozen products are often shorter than in conventional ovens.
- Grilling/Broiling: Use high rack for closer heat source. Set temperature between 220-250°C. Turn food halfway through for even colouring.
- Baking: Uncovered dishes typically require 20-40°C lower temperature than traditional ovens. Bundt or tube pans are recommended.
- Roasting: Line the bowl with foil to catch drippings. Use a low rack. Temperature usually 25°C less than conventional roasting. Roast whole chicken at 200°C for approximately 30 minutes per 1kg.
