Wear safety goggles, shoes and appropriate clothing.
If you have long hair, tie it back out of the way.
BEFORE INSTALLATION
This instruction leaflet must be used in conjunction with the instruction supplied with your shower
door. (A swing door shown in the example here).
Check that the shower tray is level in all directions. The enclosure will not sit correctly on an uneven
surface. If uneven, the wall channels may not fit and the doors may not shut correctly.
The enclosure should be fitted on tiled walls which are sealed with waterproof grout.
There must be a good silicone seal between the rim of the shower tray and the wall.
The shower tray and the enclosure must match in size. Attempting to fit the incorrect size of enclosure
to the shower tray will result in water leaks.

Cleaning and Maintenance
After each use the glass should be wiped down with a window squdgee and the framework wiped dry. This will reduce the build up
of limescale and water marks on the glass and framework. DO NOT use bleach, scouring powders, solvents or other aggressive
cleaning agents which may damage the framework.
To ensure the doors continue, the top and bottom runners should be lubricated regulary. This should be done using a silicone wipe,
These can be purchased from Customer Care if required.
In some instances mould spores may build up under the glazing seal of the unit. The mould spores are most commonly black or
red in colour. It is possible for a qualified person to remove the glazing seal to clean and replace. Please contact Customer Care for
advice. Mould build up is not covered by the guarentee.
Toughened Safety Glass is twice as strong as untoughened glass. However it is still possible for it to shatter. Care should be taken
when opening and closing the door panels so not to stress the glass.
Stressed glass may shatter at anytime and not necassarily at the time of stress.

Overview

This document describes the installation, usage, and maintenance of a Pentagon Shower Enclosure.

Function Description:

The Pentagon Shower Enclosure is designed to create a sealed showering area, typically installed in a bathroom on a shower tray. It consists of glass panels, metal frames, wall channels, corner posts, and a door (a swing door is shown in the example). The enclosure aims to contain water within the showering area, preventing leaks and maintaining a dry bathroom floor.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Drill Bit Sizes:
    • 6.5mm masonry bit for wall plugs (30mm deep holes).
    • 4.5mm metal bit for wall channels (through edge and between grooves).
    • 3mm metal bit for inside enclosure frame, corner posts, and door frame.
  • Screw Sizes:
    • 25mm screws with washers for fixing to the wall.
    • 13mm screws with washers for fixing within the enclosure frame, corner posts, and support brackets.
  • Wall Plugs: PN3230 Wall Plugs are supplied for masonry walls.
  • Glass Type: Toughened Safety Glass, which is twice as strong as untoughened glass, but can still shatter under stress.
  • Sealant: Silicone sealant is required for sealing the shower tray to the tiles and the bottom of the enclosure, as well as 50mm up the wall channels and corner posts.
  • Dimensions:
    • Wall channels: 100mm max.
    • Door width calculation: X = DOOR WIDTH + 10mm.
    • Support bracket screw length: 13mm.
    • Wall bracket screw length: 25mm.
    • Wall channel cover overlap: 50mm.

Usage Features:

  • Installation Process:
    1. Preparation: Ensure the shower tray is level in all directions. The enclosure will not sit correctly on an uneven surface, leading to potential leaks. The enclosure should be fitted on tiled walls sealed with waterproof grout. A good silicone seal between the shower tray rim and the wall is crucial. The shower tray and enclosure must match in size.
    2. Wall Channel Drilling: Drill 4.5mm holes in both wall channels through the edge and between the grooves.
    3. Trial Fit: Trial fit the entire enclosure on the tray to determine the best fit. Mark wall channel positions on the wall, then remove the enclosure.
    4. Wall Channel Placement: Place wall channels on the tray against the marked wall positions, ensuring they are vertical and equally distanced from the front of the tray. Use masking tape to prevent drill bit slipping. Drill 6.5mm holes (30mm deep) in the wall and insert wall plugs.
    5. Sealing: Clean the shower tray of dust and debris. Seal the gap between the tray surface and tiles, ensuring sealant is behind the bottom of the wall channel. Apply sealant to the back of the wall channels. Fix wall channels using 32mm screws.
    6. Panel and Post Assembly: Insert side panels into wall channels and place corner posts onto side panels, allowing space for the door. Drill 3mm holes in inside wall channels and corner posts (not too deep). Fix using 13mm screws.
    7. Door Installation: Insert the door into corner posts. Check the enclosure for verticality and ensure the door frame is not twisted.
    8. Final Fixings: Drill 3mm holes in corner posts and fix using 13mm screws. Drill remaining holes in corner posts and fix using 3mm drill bit and 13mm screws.
    9. Support Brackets: Mark drill hole positions on the wall and enclosure. Drill 6.5mm holes (30mm deep) in the wall and insert wall plugs. Drill 3mm holes in the inside face of the enclosure frame. Fix using 25mm screws with washers in the wall and 13mm screws with washers in the enclosure. Push fit support bracket end covers.
    10. Internal Sealing: Push fit wall channel covers on the inside. From the outside only, apply sealant to the bottom of the enclosure and 50mm up the wall channels and corner posts.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Handle glass with extreme care; sharp impacts can damage glass and metal frames.
    • Verify no hidden pipes or cables in drilling areas.
    • Wear safety goggles, shoes, and appropriate clothing.
    • Tie back long hair.
  • Tools Required: Drill, 6.5mm masonry bit, 4.5mm & 3mm metal bits, Crosshead Screwdriver, Spirit Level, Pencil, Silicone Sealant, Tape Measure, Masking Tape.
  • Fixings Note: Supplied screws and wall plugs are for masonry walls. For lightweight walls (e.g., stud partition, plasterboard), use appropriate fixings.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the glass with a window squeegee and dry the framework. This reduces limescale and water mark buildup.
  • Prohibited Cleaners: DO NOT use bleach, scouring powders, solvents, or other aggressive cleaning agents, as they can damage the framework.
  • Runner Lubrication: Lubricate top and bottom runners regularly using a silicone wipe to ensure smooth door operation. Silicone wipes can be purchased from Customer Care.
  • Mould Management: Mould spores can build up under the glazing seal, typically appearing black or red. A qualified person can remove, clean, and replace the glazing seal. Contact Customer Care for advice; mould buildup is not covered by the guarantee.
  • Glass Care: Toughened Safety Glass can shatter if stressed. Exercise care when opening and closing door panels to avoid stressing the glass. Stressed glass may shatter at any time.

Packaging and End-of-Life Recycling:

  • Packaging: Cardboard and polythene parts are recyclable.
  • Product: Materials like aluminium and glass are recyclable. Contact local authorities for recycling centers.
