Push
back
Shift
Lock,
without
depressing
either
of
the
Shift
Keys.
2.
Lock
Escapement
Throwout
as follows
: Push
carriage
to
right,
grasp
Platen
Knob
with
right
hand
and
push
the
throwout
back
with
the
thumb.
Holding
it
in
this
position, allow
the car-
riage
to
move
to
the left
until
the
throwout
engages
the
notch
in
the
bed
plate.
