Securing the Fixation Ring
The Fixation Ring can be used to secure the patient to the Scoopboard in readiness for extrication.
The attachment straps must be fastened to the Scoopboard and are freely accessible.
The user is responsible for checking the correct placement of the Fixation Ring and the stamp position
during therapy.
1. Either pause the therapy or during a
ventilation pause, position the Fixation
Ring centrally on the thorax, with the
fasteners facing upright and hold in
position.
4. Ensure the patient’s arm are positioned
close to their body and bring the
magnetic fasteners of the attachment
straps up to the magnetic fasteners on
the fixation ring and loosely secure the
attachment straps by carefully pulling
them.
3. Continue to hold the Fixation Ring in
position and fully tighten the
attachment straps by pulling them
carefully and evenly in a diagonal
direction on the patient’s chest.
2. Additionally, the patient can be fully immobilised using the Patient Securing System.
