Installation and repair of the impressed-current anode system CORREX
®
UP
2.3-919 may only be performed by qualified personnel.
Before installing CORREX
®
UP make sure:
1. the impressed-current anode system is operated in a closed and dry room,
2. the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the rating plate,
3. the mains voltage is permanently available.

To ensure proper functioning of the CORREX
®
UP system, the following safety
instructions must be observed:
1. The hot-water tank is not suitable for remaining in operation over more than
2 months without tapping water from it. There is otherwise the risk of gas
formation which often manifests itself by a gurgling noise in the tank and in
the pipe system.
2. The plug-in potentiostat must not be disconnected from the mains supply
while the storage tank is full, or else the corrosion protection is no longer
ensured.
3. The connecting cable between plug-in potentiostat and tank must not be
detached when the tank is full, or else the corrosion protection is no longer
ensured.
4. The CORREX
®
UP system must remain in operation even during prolonged
downtimes (e.g. holidays), or else the corrosion protection is no longer
ensured.

Safety warnings for the operation of impressed-current anode systems in ena-
melled hot-water tanks with electrical tubular heating element:
In hot-water tanks equipped with an electrical tubular heating element moun-
ted in a insulated hole, there is a risk of voltage transfer via the water to metal
parts of the tank not protected against accidental contact when the electrical
tubular heating element is defective. If these parts are touched, there may be
the risk of a fatal electric shock. For this reason it must be ensured by regular
maintenance of the electrical tubular heating element by a qualified expert, for
instance, a plumber or an electrical fitter, that the electrical tubular heating
element is in a safe operational state and that it is functioning properly.
