Function Description:

This smart electric gooseneck kettle is primarily used for heating water to specific temperatures, making it ideal for pour-over coffee, various types of tea, and other hot beverages. Its gooseneck spout allows for precise pouring, which is particularly beneficial for pour-over coffee brewing. The kettle features a control panel on its power base with preset temperature options and smart functionalities accessible via the VeSync app. It includes a "Hold Temp" mode to maintain the desired temperature for an extended period and "MyBrew" for customizable temperature settings. The kettle is equipped with boil-dry protection for safety.

Usage Features:

Before First Use:

A water test is recommended to ensure proper functioning. This involves filling the kettle to the "MAX" line, pressing the 212°F ("BOIL BLACK") button, allowing it to boil and cool, then rinsing thoroughly.

VeSync App Setup:

The kettle can be connected to the VeSync app by scanning a QR code or searching for "VeSync" in app stores. Users can log in or sign up and follow in-app instructions to set up the smart kettle, enabling additional smart functions.

Using Your Smart Kettle:

1. Add at least ½ US cup / 118 mL of filtered water, ensuring not to exceed the "MAX" line.
2. Securely place the lid on the kettle and the kettle on the power base.
3. Plug in the cord; buttons will blink, and the base will beep once.
4. Press a preset temperature button (e.g., 180°F GREEN, 195°F OOLONG, 205°F COFFEE, 212°F BOIL BLACK). The button will light up, and heating will begin. Only one preset can be selected at a time.
5. Optionally, press "HOLD TEMP" at any time before heating is complete to activate Hold Temperature Mode, which maintains the temperature for 30 minutes after heating. The button remains lit during this time. The Hold Temperature duration can be customized in the VeSync app (5-60 minutes). "HOLD TEMP" will not activate unless a preset is selected. If the kettle is removed from the base during Maintain Hold Temperature Mode, the button will blink, and the kettle will turn off after 60 seconds. Press and hold "HOLD TEMP" for 5 seconds to toggle "Always Hold Temp" on/off; when on, Hold Temp Mode automatically activates with any temperature preset.
6. The kettle beeps 3 times and stops heating when the selected temperature is reached.

Making Pour-Over Coffee:

The gooseneck spout is ideal for pour-over coffee. After heating water, gently pour it over coffee grounds in a slow spiral motion to saturate them, allowing for "blooming" (30-45 seconds). Repeat the pouring process until the desired amount of coffee is brewed.

High Altitude Users:

At higher elevations, water boils at lower temperatures. Users at 3,881–9,255 ft (1,183–2,820 m) may use 205°F COFFEE for boiling, and those at 9,256 ft (2,821 m) and above may use 195°F OOLONG.

Smart Kettle Sounds:

The kettle beeps 3 times when the target temperature is reached. These alerts can be disabled in the VeSync app. It also beeps once when plugged in or when boil-dry protection activates.

Adjusting Lid Tightness:

The lid's tightness can be adjusted by manipulating the 3 tabs on the kettle lid. Pushing tabs in loosens the lid, while pulling them out tightens it.

Boil-Dry Protection:

If the kettle contains less than ½ US cup / 118 mL of water, the heating element automatically shuts off. All buttons will blink, and the kettle will beep. Allow the kettle to cool before adding more water and using it again.

VeSync App Functions:

• Remote Control: All kettle functions can be controlled remotely, and boiling progress can be monitored.
• MyBrew Customization: Customize the MyBrew preset temperature. Includes a "Baby Formula Mode" to cool water to an ideal formula temperature after boiling.
• Hold Temp Customization: Customize the duration of Hold Temperature Mode and activate "Maintain Hold Temp" to resume the mode when the kettle is returned to the base.
• Delay Start: Schedule when the water should boil.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning:

1. Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool.
2. Wipe the kettle and base with a soft, damp cloth, ensuring the electric socket remains dry.
3. Dry all parts after each use.

• Note: Never immerse the kettle or power base in water.

Descaling the Smart Kettle:

Descaling is recommended at least once a week for frequent users to remove mineral deposits. Always descale before and after long storage periods.

1. Unplug and cool the kettle, then pour out all water.
2. Squeeze half a lemon or add ½ US cup / 118 mL of distilled vinegar into the kettle.
3. For thick scale buildup, scrub inner walls with a non-scratch sponge.

• Note: Do not use steel wool, as it can scratch the kettle.

4. Add 2 US cups / 473 mL of water and boil the mixture.
5. Pour out the mixture, then wipe off remaining scale with a non-abrasive cloth, sponge, or cleaning brush.
6. Repeat as needed.

• Quick Descaling Note: For thin scale layers, add 3 US tbsp / 44 mL of baking soda to 1½ US cup / 118 mL of vinegar, swirl to coat walls, wipe with a non-scratch sponge, and pour out.
