Overview

This document describes the Costway Air Fryer Oven, model EP24925US, a versatile kitchen appliance designed for various cooking methods, primarily air frying. The oven is intended for normal household use and offers a range of features for preparing meals efficiently and safely.

Function Description

The Costway Air Fryer Oven utilizes hot air circulation to cook food, providing a healthier alternative to traditional deep frying. It can perform multiple functions, including air frying, roasting, baking, and dehydrating. The appliance is equipped with a digital control panel that allows users to set precise temperatures and cooking times. It also features several cooking presets for common food items, simplifying the cooking process. The oven's design incorporates an internal light to monitor cooking progress without opening the door, and a rotation function for use with rotisserie accessories, ensuring even cooking.

Usage Features

The Air Fryer Oven comes with a variety of accessories to support its diverse cooking capabilities. These include:

  • Air Flow Racks: These racks can be used for dehydration, cooking crispy snacks, or reheating items like pizza. They are inserted into side grooves within the unit.
  • Rotating Cage: Ideal for fries, roasting nuts, and other snacks, the rotating cage ensures even cooking. It is placed into the unit using the Rotisserie Fetch Tool.
  • Drip Tray: Positioned at the bottom of the unit, the drip tray collects excess oil and food particles, making cleanup easier.
  • Skewers and Adjustable Skewer Racks: These are designed for kabob recipes, allowing users to cook meat, fish, or vegetables on skewers. The skewer racks fit over the rotisserie shaft and are secured with set screws.
  • Rotisserie Shaft, Forks & Set Screws: Used for roasting whole chickens or larger cuts of meat (up to 3.5-4 lbs). The shaft is inserted lengthwise through the food, and the forks are slid onto the shaft and locked in place with set screws.
  • Rotisserie Fetch Tool: This tool is specifically designed to safely remove cooked roasts and chickens prepared using the rotisserie or skewer methods, preventing direct contact with hot surfaces.
  • Protection Cover: This cover is inserted into the top of the unit to prevent food from touching the heating element and is removable for easy cleaning.
  • Door Glass: The unit features a removable door glass for easy cleaning. The appliance will not operate if the door glass is not properly inserted.

The digital control panel offers intuitive operation:

  • Power/Start-Stop Button: Activates the unit and initiates the cooking process with default settings (370°F/190°C for 15 minutes) or custom settings. It also shuts down the unit.
  • Internal Light Button: Toggles the internal light to check cooking progress. The light also illuminates automatically when the door is open.
  • Rotation Button: Engages the rotisserie mode for accessories like the rotating cage or rotisserie spit, indicated by a blinking icon.
  • Temperature Control Buttons: Adjust the cooking temperature in 41°F (5°C) intervals, ranging from 150°F (65°C) to 400°F (200°C). Dehydration temperatures range from 90°F (30°C) to 170°F (75°C).
  • Time Control Buttons: Set the cooking time from 1 to 60 minutes for most modes, and from 2 to 24 hours in 30-minute intervals for dehydration.
  • LED Digital Display: Shows the current temperature and remaining time during cooking.
  • Cooking Presets: One-touch buttons for various food types (e.g., French Fries, Steaks/Chops, Chicken, Baking, Dehydrator), which automatically set default time and temperature. These can be overridden manually.
  • Running Lights: Blink in sequence during operation and for 20 seconds after shutdown, indicating the unit is active or cooling down.

For optimal results, users are advised to consult the provided cooking charts for recommended temperatures and times, and to adjust settings based on personal preference, food origin, size, shape, and brand. It is recommended to add 3 minutes to cooking time when starting with a cold appliance.

Maintenance Features

Proper cleaning and storage are essential for maintaining the Air Fryer Oven's performance and longevity.

  • Cleaning After Each Use: The unit should be cleaned after every use. The rotating cage and other stainless steel accessories are dishwasher safe. Caked-on food can be soaked in warm soapy water for easier removal.
  • External Cleaning: The outside of the appliance can be wiped with a warm, moist cloth and mild detergent. The unit should never be submerged in water.
  • Oven Door Cleaning: The oven door can be removed by lifting it to a 45° angle and gently pulling upward. Both sides can then be cleaned with warm soapy water on a damp cloth. The door should not be soaked in water or washed in a dishwasher.
  • Internal Cleaning: The inside of the appliance should be cleaned with hot water, a mild detergent, and a non-abrasive sponge. A cleaning brush can be used to remove food residue from the upper screen if necessary.
  • Accessory Cleaning: All parts and accessories used in cooking should be washed with warm soapy water. Only accessories are dishwasher safe.
  • Storage: Before storing, the appliance should be unplugged and allowed to cool completely. All components must be clean and dry. The unit should be stored in a clean, dry place.

Safety Precautions

Several important safeguards are highlighted to ensure safe operation:

  • Avoid touching hot surfaces during and immediately after operation. Use oven mitts or pot holders when handling hot accessories.
  • Do not immerse the cord, plugs, or the unit in water or other liquids to prevent electric shock.
  • Ensure close supervision when the unit is used by or near children.
  • Unplug the unit when not in use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool down before handling parts.
  • Only use accessories intended for this unit to avoid damage and accidents.
  • The unit is for indoor use only.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
  • Avoid placing the unit on or near hot gas, electric burners, or heated places.
  • Exercise extreme caution when moving the unit if it contains hot oil or liquids.
  • Ensure ingredients are placed in the Frying Pan Basket to prevent direct contact with heating components.
  • Do not cover the air inlet and outlet openings during operation.
  • Never pour oil into the frying pan, as this poses a fire hazard.
  • Never touch the inside of the appliance while it is operating.
  • Maintain at least 3 inches of free space around the back, left, right, and upper sides of the appliance. Do not place anything on top of the appliance.
  • Be aware of hot steam and air released from the air outlet opening during air frying. Keep hands and face away.
  • Ensure food comes out golden yellow, not dark or brown, and remove any burnt remnants.
  • If excessive smoke escapes from the air vent, unplug the unit immediately and contact customer service.
  • Do not move the unit while in operation; wait until it has completely cooled down.
  • Never use a towel to block the vent.
  • Do not disassemble the unit or replace parts yourself. Any necessary service must be authorized by the manufacturer.

  • If the power cord is damaged, do not attempt to operate the unit.
  • Keep the unit out of reach of children when operating or cooling down.
  • Keep hands and face away from the vent outlet where heat or steam is released.
  • Always ensure the Air Fryer is clean before cooking.
  • Never use a cooking vessel filled with cooking oil or any other liquid with this unit, as it cooks with hot air only.
  • Do not place anything on top of the appliance or cover the air vents.
  • Do not use the oven door as a resting place for a hot Frying Basket, as this could damage the door or tip the unit.
  • Forks, skewers, and other metal parts will get extremely hot during use; wear protective oven mitts or gloves to avoid personal injury.

The Air Fryer Oven is designed to simplify cooking while offering a wide range of culinary possibilities, making it a valuable addition to any kitchen.
