What to do if my Country Flame Indoor Fireplace is not producing enough heat?
    • J
      Jessica HendersonAug 1, 2025
If your Country Flame Indoor Fireplace isn't producing enough heat, several factors could be at play. Wet wood is a common culprit, as dry wood produces almost twice the BTU’s and burns at the same rate. Wood cut in January and allowed to dry will give excellent results for the fall season. Ensure you're building a large enough fire; allow it to burn rapidly for several minutes to burn off excess creosote. A well-built fire is much more efficient than a few sticks, and placing the fire next to the sides of the heater provides better heat transfer. Also, adjust the blower speed to match the fire size; too high a fan speed can create a cooling effect.

What to do if my Country Flame Fireplace FP33 Indoor Fireplace is not producing enough heat (continued)?

If your Country Flame Indoor Fireplace is still not producing enough heat, consider these additional factors: Severely cold weather naturally requires more fuel. If there is an overdraft, turn the rotary damper toward the closed setting to reduce the draft. Make sure the draft controls are properly adjusted and open enough, as restricted air intake limits combustion. Finally, use hardwood instead of softwood, and avoid rotten wood, which burns quickly, produces excessive ash, and provides very poor heat.

How to clean dirty glass on Country Flame Fireplace FP33 doors?
    • P
      Patricia JacobsAug 10, 2025
To clean dirty glass on your Country Flame Indoor Fireplace doors, consider these points: Wet wood causes more creosote buildup, so use dry wood to reduce staining. For cleaning, a damp cloth dipped in wood ashes works well, as regular household glass cleaners are not effective. Avoid abrasives like steel wool or powder, which can permanently damage the glass. Approved Fireplace glass cleaners are available. Also, burning logs too close to the glass will tend to dirty it more quickly.

What to do if the blower on my Country Flame Fireplace FP33 is inoperative?

      Timothy KingAug 14, 2025
If the blower on your Country Flame Indoor Fireplace isn't working, first check the circuit breaker. Make sure the thermostat is properly set and that the fire has warmed the firebox and air discharge snap disc. The fan speed should be set to the appropriate speed, not the “off” position. The sensor switch only activates when the discharged air reaches 110 degrees or higher. Test the air discharge snap disc with a hair dryer. The fan should operate if both the wall thermostat and air discharge snap disc complete the blower's electrical circuit.

How to prevent excessive creosote buildup in my Country Flame Fireplace FP33?
    • K
      Katherine PowellAug 19, 2025
To prevent excessive creosote buildup in your Country Flame Indoor Fireplace, avoid using poor quality wood. Unseasoned wood produces more creosote than dry, seasoned wood, so buy your wood early to avoid these problems. Don't shut down the heater controls too tightly, as this prevents the entry of air necessary for complete combustion. Open your draft controls for up to 20 minutes once a day to burn off accumulations of creosote. Proper use of commercial preparations will also give satisfactory results. If you use a humidifier, it will increase creosote formation, so clean your flue more often and burn your fires hotter.

Why is my Country Flame Fireplace FP33 Indoor Fireplace smoking?
    • W
      William JohnsonOct 27, 2025
Your Country Flame Indoor Fireplace may be smoking due to several reasons. The chimney cap could be restricted, so you should clean it and remove any debris. The damper might not be adjusted properly; secure it in the open position. A downdraft could be the cause; consider adding a chimney cap designed to prevent downdrafts. There might be an obstruction, such as tree limbs, within 10 feet of the top of the chimney, which should be removed, or the chimney height increased. Atmospheric conditions can also cause smoking if the chimney pipe isn't straight; wait for conditions to change before burning with the doors open. Check the flue system for obstructions and clean if necessary. Consult with a Certified Chimney Expert if there are too many flues to a chimney. If the house is too tight, op...
