Function Description

The Cozy 'N' Safe Everest EST-215 is a "Universal" child restraint system designed for use in vehicles. It is approved to Regulation No 44, 04 series of amendments. This car seat is suitable for forward-facing use only and accommodates children across weight categories Group 1, 2, and 3. For Group 1 (9-18kg), it uses its integrated harness system. For Group 2 and 3 (15-36kg), the harness system is removed, and the vehicle's 3-point belt system is used to secure the child. The car seat is designed to provide safety and comfort for children approximately 9 months to 11 years old.

Usage Features

  • Installation: The car seat base attaches to the backrest by pressing hooks down until they fit into the booster seat holes, then raising the back of the car seat until a click sound confirms it's locked. It must be placed on the vehicle seat in the direction of travel.
  • Shoulder Strap Height Adjustment (Group 1): The shoulder straps must be at the correct height, with the child's shoulders below the harness slot. To adjust, release the backrest cover strap, slide one harness strap off the connector, pull it through the slot, and re-thread it through the desired hole. Repeat for the other strap, ensuring both are at the same height.
  • Harness Tightening (Group 1): Pull the shoulder straps upwards to remove slack from the lap sections, then pull the adjuster strap until the harness is fully tightened. The harness should be adjusted as tightly as possible without causing discomfort, with the lap strap low on the thighs.
  • Harness Loosening (Group 1): Press the lever under the seat cover on the front of the seat. While gripping the two shoulder straps, pull them towards you to loosen the harness. Avoid pulling from the chest pads.
  • Harness Fastening (Group 1): Slot the two metal sections of the buckle connectors together, then slot them into the top of the buckle until they click. Check for correct locking by pulling the shoulder straps upwards. To release, press the red button on the buckle downwards.
  • Harness Removal (Group 2/3): To remove shoulder straps, release the strap at the bottom of the backrest cover, slide both harness straps off the connector, and pull the webbing through the slots in the backrest and fabric cover. To remove lap straps, turn the webbing retainers on their narrowest end and feed them through the slots in the seat base and fabric cover.
  • Headrest Height Adjustment: The headrest can be adjusted up and down to a suitable height for the child. Place one hand on the backrest, pull the button/lever with the other hand, and position the headrest.
  • Cup Holders: The car seat includes cup holders on each side that slide out and click into place when pulled firmly.

Maintenance Features

  • Instruction Manual Storage: The instruction manual can be stored in the allocated space on the side of the backrest. It is important to keep the instructions with the car seat at all times.
  • Cleaning: The car seat cover is removable and washable. For light staining, clean with a damp cloth or soapy water. The cover can be removed completely and hand washed up to 30°C.
  • Cover Removal: To remove the cover, separate the booster seat and the backrest. Open the velcro fastener and remove the booster seat cover. Open the velcro fastener on the back of the backrest and remove the backrest cover, then remove the headrest.
  • Care Instructions: Do not bleach, iron, machine wash, or tumble dry the cover, as this could damage it and require replacement.
  • Accident Policy: The child car seat system should be replaced if it has been involved in any accident, due to potential hidden damages.
  • Alterations: Do not make any alterations or additions to the device without the approval of the competent authority.
  • Cover Requirement: The child car seat must not be used without its cover, as the cover is an integral part of the car seat system's performance.
  • Load Bearing Contact Points: Only use load-bearing contact points described in the instruction manual and marked on the car seat.
