Why won't my Craftsman Lawn Mower start?
    • R
      Robyn DelgadoAug 13, 2025
There are several reasons why your Craftsman Lawn Mower might not start. It could be due to a disengaged blade control, so ensure that the blade control is engaged. Another common cause is a disconnected spark plug boot; check and connect the wire to the spark plug boot. Also, the fuel tank might be empty or contain stale fuel, so fill the tank with clean, fresh gasoline. A faulty spark plug can also prevent starting; in this case, clean, adjust the gap, or replace the spark plug. If the engine is flooded, wait a few minutes before attempting to restart it. Finally, a blocked fuel line can cause this issue, in which case you should contact your Sears Parts & Repair Center to have the fuel line cleaned.

    • R
      Richard FlynnAug 17, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine is overheating, it could be due to a low engine oil level. Fill the crankcase with the proper oil. Another possible cause is restricted airflow, so clean the area around and on top of the engine.

What causes an uneven cut with my Craftsman Lawn Mower?
    • K
      Kevin DavisAug 20, 2025
An uneven cut with your Craftsman Lawn Mower can be due to a couple of reasons. First, check that the wheels are positioned correctly by adjusting the cutting height lever on the right front and right rear wheel to the same position. Also, a dull blade can cause an uneven cut, so sharpen or replace the blade.

What to do if my Craftsman Lawn Mower engine runs erratically?
    • K
      Kimberly MurphyAug 25, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine is running erratically, several factors could be the cause. First, check the spark plug boot and ensure it is connected and tightened. Stale fuel can also cause this issue, so fill the tank with clean, fresh gasoline. A plugged vent in the gas cap might be the problem; try clearing the vent. If there's water or dirt in the fuel system, run the engine until it stops from lack of fuel, then refill with fresh fuel. For a dirty air cleaner, refer to the Air Cleaner section in the Engine Maintenance section. Finally, a blocked fuel line can cause this, and you should contact your Sears Parts & Repair Center to have the fuel line cleaned.

How to reduce excessive vibration in my Craftsman C459-36201 Lawn Mower?
    • W
      William HesterAug 28, 2025
Excessive vibration in your Craftsman Lawn Mower can often be attributed to a loose or unbalanced cutting blade. Make sure to tighten the blade and adapter, and balance the blade. Another cause could be a bent cutting blade, which would require replacing the blade.

Why won't my Craftsman C459-36201 mulch grass properly?
    • E
      Eric LaneAug 31, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower isn't mulching grass properly, it could be due to several factors. Mowing wet grass can prevent proper mulching, so wait until the grass is dry before cutting. Excessively high grass can also be a problem; mow once at a high cutting height, then mow again at the desired height or make a narrower cutting path. A dull blade will also affect mulching performance, so sharpen or replace the blade.

What to do if my Craftsman C459-36201 Lawn Mower idles poorly?
    • C
      carpentererikSep 4, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower idles poorly, it could be due to a spark plug that is fouled, faulty, or has a gap that is too wide. Reset the gap to .030” or replace the spark plug. A dirty air cleaner may also be the cause, so refer to the Air Cleaner section in the Engine Maintenance section.

Why does my Craftsman C459-36201 Lawn Mower occasionally skip or hesitate?
    • E
