Usage Features

The Crunch speakers are designed for both factory speaker replacement and custom installations.

• Factory Speaker Replacement: The screw hole configuration is compatible with most domestic and foreign vehicles. Users should ensure adequate room and clearance for speaker depth, especially concerning windows and moving parts. Wiring should be routed through the factory door grommet.
• Custom Speaker Location and Installation: For custom setups, users are advised to use the provided mounting diagrams and cut-out dimensions. It is crucial to mount left and right speakers on the same plane, meaning they should be at the same height from the floor and the same distance from the firewall to ensure proper imaging and maximum performance. Avoid mounting one speaker higher, lower, further forward, or further behind the other.

Mounting Procedures:

• Rear Deck Mount: Involves securing the speaker, spacer ring, and speaker grill with mounting screws.
• Door Mount (Coax & Component): Requires securing the speaker (coax or component) to the inner metal door panel, potentially using a tweeter retaining clip for component tweeters, and then attaching the speaker grill with screws.
• Wire Routing: Wires should be routed through the factory grommet to protect them and ensure a clean installation.

Component Wire Connections: For component systems (like CS65C), the wiring involves connecting the amplifier's positive (+) and negative (-) outputs to the "INPUT" terminals of the Crunch crossover. From the crossover, specific outputs are provided for the "MID BASS" and "TWT" (tweeter), which are then connected to the respective speaker components. The "MID BASS" output typically uses red and black wires, while the "TWT" output uses white and black wires.
