Frequency
Error
This
manual
test
is
used
for
testing
cellular
telephone
hand-off,
and
RF
frequency
error.
The
Model-2500
displays
the
current
voice
channel
in
use,
along
with
an
RF
frequency
error
measurement.
The
frequency
error
measurement
is
displayed
in
kilohertz,
and
indicates
the
cellular
tele-
phone's
frequency
error
with
respect
to
the
current
channel
in
use.
This
allows
for
monitoring
the
frequency
accuracy
of
the
cellular
telephone
transmitter.
This
test
also
allows
for
manual
control
of
voice
channel
hand-off
to
any
valid
voice
channel
by
entering
a
four
digit
number
that
corresponds
to
a
hand-off
channel,
and
then
pressing
the
"ENTER"
key.
As
the
new
hand-off
channel
is
entered,
it
will
be
displayed.
When
the
"ENTER"
key
is
press-
ed,
a
hand-off
instruction
will
be
transmitted
to
the
cellular
telephone
by
the
Model-2500,
and
the
new
voice
channel
will
be
displayed.
When
all
frequency
error
and
hand-off
tests
have
been
completed,
press
the
"DOWN
ARROW"
key
to
proceed
to
the
next
selection
in
the
manual
test
flow
chart.
DTMF
Encoder
Test
This
test
is
designed
to
test
the
DTMF
encoder
on
the
handset
of
the
cellular
telephone.
Press
the
DTMF
keys
on
the
cellular
telephone,
and
verify
that
the
keys
pressed
are
now
displayed
on
the
Model-2500
VF
dis-
play.
When
all
DTMF
keys
have
been
tested,
press
the
"DOWN
ARROW"
key
to
proceed
to
the
next
selection
in
the
manual
test
flow
chart.
Mobile
Hook-flash
Test
This
test
is
designed
to
verify
proper
operation
of
the
"HOOK-FLASH"
function
in
a
cellular
telephone.
The
hook-flash
consists
of
a
400ms
burst
of
signalling
tone
from
the
cellular
telephone.
Execute
this
test
by
pressing
the
hook-flash
switch
on
the
handset
of
the
cellular
tele-
phone.
If
the
hook-flash
is
detected
by
the
Model-2500,
an
indication
will
be
displayed.
When
the
hook-flash
test
is
complete,
press
the
"DOWN
ARROW"
key
to
proceed
to
the
next
selection
in
·
the
manual
test
flow
chart.
Receiver
Sensitivity
Test
During
this
test
the
transmit
carrier
from
the
Model-2500
is
modulated
with
a
1000
Hz
tone
plus
SAT
at
a
deviation
level
of
14
kHz.
Manual
control
of
the
RF
generator
output
level
is
possible
by
using
the
"RF
LEVEL"
button,
and
adjusting
the
front
panel
RF LEVEL
vernier
on
the
Model-2500.
Manual
control
of
the
RF
generator
can
be
used
for
testing
receiver
sensitivity.
Pressing
the
"RF LEVEL"
button
on
the
Model-2500
front
panel
will
change
the
range
of
the
RF
generator
output
level
as
indicated
by
the
RF
Level
LEOs
next
to
the
front
panel
vernier.
