  Your Cub Cadet Snow Blower might fail to start because the choke is not in the CHOKE position. Move the choke to the CHOKE position. Other potential causes include a disconnected spark plug wire (connect it), an empty or stale fuel tank (fill with fresh gasoline), the engine not being primed (prime it as instructed in the Engine Operator’s Manual), a faulty spark plug (clean, adjust the gap, or replace it), or the key not fully inserted into the ignition switch (insert the key fully).

Then, clean the chute assembly and inside of the auger housing using a clean-out tool or a stick. Another reason may be a foreign object lodged in the auger (remove it with a clean-out tool or a stick). Other possible causes include the auger control cable needing adjustment (refer to the Auger Control Test) , a loose or damaged auger belt (refer to Maintenance & Adjustments section), or sheared shear pins (replace them with new ones).

  If your Cub Cadet Snow Blower engine runs erratically with inconsistent RPM (hunting or surging), it may be running on CHOKE. Move the choke lever to the RUN position. Another cause could be stale fuel (fill the tank with clean, fresh gasoline) or water/dirt in the fuel system (drain the fuel tank and refill with fresh fuel). Other causes may be carburetor out of adjustment or engine over-governed, in such cases contact an authorized Service Center.
