The Multi Baker operates on a 120 V – 60 Hz USA household current. It features a polarized plug, meaning one blade is wider than the other. This design is a safety feature to reduce the risk of electric shock, ensuring the plug fits into a polarized outlet only one way. Before using the interchangeable plates for the first time, they should be washed with soap and water and allowed to dry. Before each use, the chosen plate should be given a quick spray with a non-stick cooking spray (like PAM) before being inserted into the baker's body.
After use, the electrical cord should be removed from the appliance, and the plate to be washed should be removed. The outside of the Multi Baker can be wiped with a damp cloth. It is crucial NOT TO IMMERSE the bottom of the appliance in any liquid.
