Function Description
The CuisinStar Coffee Maker is designed for brewing coffee using either ground coffee or capsules. It supports brewing volumes up to 14oz. The appliance also includes a milk frother for preparing various milk-based beverages like cappuccinos, lattes, and hot chocolate.

Usage Features
The coffee maker offers versatile brewing options and user-friendly controls:
- Dual Brewing System: Accommodates both ground coffee (using the Ground Coffee Holder) and coffee capsules (using the Capsule Holder).
- Adjustable Brew Volume: Users can select desired coffee volumes in 2oz increments, with indicator lights showing the selected size (6oz, 8oz, 10oz, 12oz, 14oz).
- Intuitive Controls: Features dedicated buttons for "CAPSULE" and "GROUND" coffee types, as well as a "Cup SIZE" button for volume selection. Indicator lights guide the user through the selection process.
- Automatic Shut-off: The appliance switches to stand-by mode if no action is taken within 30 seconds after volume selection. Brewing cycles also stop automatically once finished.
- Milk Frother: An integrated milk frother allows for the preparation of frothed milk for cappuccinos, lattes, and unheated milk, as well as hot chocolate. It has four modes, selected by short pressing a button, and operates automatically once a mode is chosen.
- Drip Tray and Cup Holder: A removable drip tray with a cup holder can be placed in upper, middle, or lower mounting slots to accommodate different cup and mug sizes.
- Water Level Indicator: The water reservoir has clear markings for minimum (6oz) and maximum (30oz) water levels.
- Safety Features: Includes a release lever to unlock the lid, and warnings against opening the lid or removing holders during brewing due to hot steam and sharp needles. The appliance will not operate if the lid is open or not properly closed.
Maintenance Features
Regular cleaning and descaling are essential for optimal performance and longevity:
- Easy Cleaning:
- The Drip Tray with Cup Holder, Ground Coffee Holder, and Capsule Holder are removable and can be washed in hot soapy water.
- The seal on the needle under the lid can be wiped with a damp cloth.
- The appliance housing, lid, and insert holder can be cleaned with a damp sponge or cloth.
- All parts that come into contact with food should be cleaned immediately after use.
- All parts must be thoroughly dried before reassembly or storage.
- Descaling:
- Periodic descaling is recommended to remove lime scale build-up.
- The descaling process involves filling the water reservoir with a descaler solution (4:1 water to descaler ratio, or 2:1 water to white vinegar ratio) and running a specific cycle.
- The appliance runs for 5 cycles of 24 seconds each, alternating pumping and resting time during descaling.
- After descaling, the appliance should be rinsed by brewing fresh water at least 3 times.
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting section to help users identify and resolve common issues such as the appliance not working, no water coming out, brewing process not starting or stopping prematurely, weak coffee flavor, or appliance leaking.
- Storage: Before storage, ensure the appliance is cool, clean, and dry. Store in a dry place, on a stable shelf or in a cupboard, with the power cord untangled and out of reach of children or pets.
