SUFFOCATION HAZARD
INFANTS HAVE SUFFOCATED:
y In gaps between extra padding
and side of the bassinet/carry cot.
y On soft bedding.
y Use only the pad provided by
manufacturer. NEVER add a
pillow, comforter, or another
mattress for padding.
on counter tops, tables, or any
other elevated surface.
y The carry cot should only
be placed on a low, dry, firm,
horizontal surface when not in use
with stroller or carry cot stand.
y Do not use the infant carrier if it is
damaged or broken.
y If a sheet is used with a carry cot
pad, use only the one provided
by the carry cot manufacturer or
one specifically designed to fit the
dimension of the carry cot pad.
y Suffocation Hazard: Infant carrier
can roll over on soft surfaces and
suffocate child. NEVER place
carrier on beds, sofas, or other
soft surfaces.
y To reduce the risk of SIDS,
pediatricians recommend healthy
infants be placed on their backs to
sleep, unless otherwise advised by
your physician.
y Strings can cause strangulation!
Do not place a string around a
child's neck, such as hood strings
or pacifier cords. Do not suspend
strings over a bassinet or carry cot
or attach strings to toys.
