Overview

The PUV-1210PL-TX & RX is an HDBaseT™ LITE Transmitter and Receiver set designed to extend uncompressed audio/video and IP data over a single CAT5e/6/7 cable. This system allows for signal transmission up to 60 meters, making it suitable for various installation environments where longer cable runs are required without compromising signal quality. A key feature of this set is its integrated control capabilities, provided through built-in RS-232 and IR ports, which enhance its versatility in managing connected devices.

One of the significant advantages of the PUV-1210PL-TX & RX is its Power over HDBaseT (PoH) functionality. The Receiver (PD) unit can be powered directly by the PoE 48V function of the Transmitter (PSE), which simplifies installation by eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the receiver end. This feature offers greater flexibility in placement and reduces cable clutter, especially in installations where power outlets might be scarce or inconveniently located.

The device supports a wide range of applications, including household entertainment sharing and control, lecture room display and control, showroom display and control, meeting room presentation and control, and classroom display and control. Its ability to handle 4K, HDCP2.2, HDMI2.0, and PoH makes it a robust solution for modern AV setups.

Function Description:

The PUV-1210PL-TX & RX system operates as an HDMI extender over a single CAT5e/6/7 cable. The Transmitter (TX) unit takes an HDMI input signal from a source device, along with IR and RS-232 control signals, and converts them for transmission over the CAT cable. The Receiver (RX) unit then receives these signals, converts them back to HDMI, IR, and RS-232, and outputs them to a display and controlled devices.

The core function is to extend HDMI signals, including video and audio, without compression. This ensures that the quality of the original signal is maintained across longer distances than traditional HDMI cables can support. The inclusion of IR and RS-232 pass-through allows for remote control of source equipment from the display location and vice-versa, as well as integration with control systems for automated operation.

The PoH feature is integral to the system's functionality, with the Transmitter acting as the Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and the Receiver as the Powered Device (PD). This means the Transmitter supplies power to the Receiver over the same CAT cable that carries the AV and control signals, streamlining the power infrastructure.
