Overview

The 1145DT No Bark Trainer is an advanced, digital micro-processor controlled system designed to prevent excessive barking in dogs. It automatically delivers an electrical stimulation when problem barking occurs, making it suitable for all dog temperaments, from the most stubborn to the meekest. This system is ideal for preventing excessive barking at home, in a kennel, or while traveling, stopping howling at night, and preventing barking in restricted areas.

Technical Specifications:

  • Collar Size: 2.3" X 1.6" X 1.1"
  • Weight: 4 oz.
  • Battery: Replaceable 6 Volt Alkaline or Lithium Battery (Lithium will last longer). Batteries are disposable and not covered under warranty.
  • Adjustable Collar: Fits small to large dogs, adjustable from approximately 7" to 21".
  • Intensity Levels: 8 different digital numeric intensity levels, plus a Zero level.
  • Stimulation Duration: 1/2 second corrective stimulation.
  • Safety Delay: Automatic three-second safety delay between stimulations.
  • Waterproof: Completely waterproof design.

Usage Features:

  • Digital Micro-processor System: Ensures precise and reliable operation.
  • Magnetic ON/OFF System: The unit is turned ON/OFF and intensity levels are changed using a built-in magnet on the collar clip or a key-ring magnet.
  • Digital Numeric Display: Shows the current intensity level (0-8) and has a small blinking light to indicate the unit is ON.
  • Vibration Sensor: Specifically designed to pick up vocal cord vibrations, eliminating unnecessary stimulation from extraneous noises or dog's tags.
  • Data Memory System: Saves the last used intensity setting for convenience.
  • Turning ON: Touch either magnet to the White Dot on the side of the collar box for approximately half a second until "0" flashes briefly, followed by the current intensity level (0-8) for 1.5 seconds. A small sub LED light will blink every 2.5 seconds when ON.
  • Turning OFF: Touch either magnet to the White Dot for 2 seconds. The number "0" will quickly blink twice on the display, indicating the unit is off.
  • Changing Stimulation Level: While the unit is on, quickly touch either magnet to the White Dot (less than one second). Each touch increases the stimulation level by one. The level will flash for 1/2 second. After level 8, the next touch resets to 0.
  • Electrode and Sensor Selection: Comes with 1/2" and 3/4" electrodes and sensors. Choosing the proper length is vital for correct operation. Electrodes and sensors should be long enough to make good contact with the dog's skin without interfering with normal breathing. For longer-haired dogs, trimming hair around the voice box area may be beneficial.
  • Electrode and Sensor Installation: Screw in electrodes and sensor by hand only. Proper hand tightening allows them to vibrate for maximum stimulation. Over-tightening can damage the unit.
  • Collar Fit and Positioning: Proper collar tightness is crucial for safety and function. It must be snug enough for electrodes and the sensor to make good skin contact. A loose collar may not deliver stimulation effectively and can cause skin irritation. The collar should be tight enough for good skin contact but not restrict the dog's breathing. The receiver box should be positioned so electrodes and the sensor face the dog's vocal cords.
  • Battery Replacement:
    1. Use a coin or screwdriver to open the battery compartment cap by turning it counter-clockwise.
    2. Remove the old battery.
    3. Insert the new battery positive "+" side first.
    4. Close the battery cap in a clockwise direction, ensuring it is properly closed and tightened to prevent water leakage.
  • Testing:
    1. Place the two red wires from the Test Light onto the electrodes.
    2. Turn the unit ON using either magnet.
    3. Slide the bottom of the test light (serrated edge) across the top of the sensor.
    4. If the light comes on, the unit is functioning. Higher intensity levels will make the light brighter. If the tester doesn't light, wait 3 seconds and repeat.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning: Periodically clean the 1145DT No Bark trainer for maximum performance and to lengthen its life.
  • Collar Box Cleaning: Clean the 1145DT collar box with lukewarm water and a mild anti-bacterial soap.
  • Electrode Area Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the space between the electrodes and the belt.
  • Belt and Buckle Cleaning: Clean the belt and buckle with water and a mild soap, then allow to dry completely.
  • Drying: Always allow the entire unit to completely dry before using. Never completely submerge the unit.
  • Preventing Neck Irritation: The collar should never be worn for more than 12 hours a day. Daily changing the collar location on the dog's neck helps prevent irritations. Keep the collar clean, especially the electrodes, with a mild anti-bacterial soap.
  • Addressing Irritation: If irritation is found, wash the dog's neck with soap and water, wipe the area with Hydrogen peroxide, dry thoroughly, and apply an antibiotic ointment.

Important Safety Notes:

  • Veterinary Examination: Before beginning bark training, have your dog examined by a veterinarian to ensure there are no physical reasons for excessive barking and that your dog is in good health.
  • Supervision: Never leave the unit on your dog while unsupervised due to the slim possibility of unintentional electric stimulation.
  • Understanding Operation: It is extremely important to fully understand all functions of the collar and how to properly train with it before placing it on your dog.
  • Material Safety: The electrodes are made with high-grade stainless steel to help prevent chemical or allergic reactions with your dog's skin.

Warranty:

  • All 1145DT No Bark Trainers have a Six Month Parts and Labor Warranty, effective from the original date of purchase. A copy of the original sales receipt is required to validate the date of purchase.
  • The warranty does not cover damage by user, abuse, loss of parts, or attempted repair damage by the user or his agent.
  • All repairs, whether warranted or not, should be sent to D.T. Systems, Inc. at 2872 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75229.
