Opening the Water Filter

The water filter compartment is located inside the
refrigerator. Look for it on the left side of the refrigerator
ceiling.
1. Place your fingers behind the tab.
2. Pull your fingers and the tab toward the front of the
refrigerator.
The compartment will unlock.
3. Lower your fingers and allow the compartment cover
to fall open.
4. Remove the bypass filter plug.
5. Insert and seat a new water filter.
6. Raise the compartment cover, slide it back into place,
and secure it.
Installing the Water Filter
WARNING
• Turn OFF the ice maker and disconnect the power plug
before replacing the filter or installing the filter bypass
plug.
• The water filter cleans some foreign particles in the
water. It does not purify water from microorganisms.
IMPORTANT
• The water filter must be replaced every 6 months.
• After replacing the filter, flush the system by filling and
discarding 10 glasses of water.
• If you will not use the filter anymore, remove it and
install the filter bypass plug.
CAUTION
If you are REPLACING a water filter:
read these instructions.
If the refrigerator is ON and water is connected, the water
supply must be OFF before the filter is removed.
If not, water could spray from the water line if the ice maker
starts.
1. Press and hold Freezer Set for three seconds.
2. Follow the above instruction Steps 1-6.
3. Press and hold Freezer Set for three seconds again
to restart the ice making process.
