Your washer is equipped with the
bubble generator that generates a
great deal of air bubble.
The air bubbles knock the dirt out
of the clothes during wash and
they push up the heavy dirt to
remove it during rinse.
Because the double washing
method using both air bubble &
water current is applied to this
washer, wash efficiency is excellent
in comparison with the original
washer system.

Overview

This document describes the DAEWOO Full-Auto Electric Washing Machine, Model DWF-185MNP. It is an instruction manual providing details on the washer's functions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The DAEWOO DWF-185MNP washing machine incorporates the First Air Bubble Washing System in the world. This system utilizes a bubble generator to create a large volume of air bubbles that effectively dislodge dirt from clothes during the wash cycle and help remove heavy dirt during rinsing. The washer employs a double washing method, combining air bubbles and water current, which significantly enhances wash efficiency compared to conventional washing systems.

The machine also features a One-Touch Operation System for ease of use and an innovative low-noise design for quieter operation.

The washer offers several full-automatic courses:

  • FUZZY COURSE (SENSOR): This is a general washing selection for most clothes, excluding extraordinary items. An artificial intelligence sensor automatically determines optimal washing conditions, including wash time, rinse times, spin time, and water level.
  • BLANKET COURSE: Effective for washing blankets, curtains, carpets, and similar items. It has a 4kg limitation for one-time washing and advises against washing general-electric blankets.
  • ECONOMY COURSE: Designed for less dirty clothes, this course helps reduce water consumption and washing time.
  • SUIT(WOOL) COURSE: Suitable for suit clothes with a 1.2kg limitation per wash. It recommends using neutral detergents only, fixes the water temperature to COLD, and does not allow selection of LOW & SMALL water levels. Leather or chamois clothes should not be washed in this course to prevent shrinkage or deformation.
  • SOAK COURSE: Ideal for blue-jeans, climbing clothes, rucksacks, and sportswear, allowing for a pre-soak cycle.

Partial process and combination options are also available:

  • WASH TIME CONTROL: Allows adjustment of wash time (14, 18, 0, 6, 10 minutes). Wash process can be skipped by setting time to 0 minutes.
  • RINSE TIMES CONTROL: Allows adjustment of rinse times (2, 3, 4, 0, 1 rinse for Pump Model; 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 0 rinse for Non-Pump Model). Spray Rinse option is available for Non-Pump Models. Rinse process can be skipped by setting times to 0.
  • SPIN TIME CONTROL: Allows adjustment of spin time (5, 7, 9, 0, 1, 3 minutes). Spin process can be skipped by setting time to 0.
  • CONVENIENT OPERATION FOR SPIN ONLY: A dedicated function for performing only a spin cycle.

The washer also supports Reserved Washing, allowing users to set a delayed start time from 2 to 48 hours for the washing cycle to complete.

Usage Features

Preparing Clothes for Washing:

  • Close zippers, snaps, and hooks to prevent snagging.
  • Remove pins, buckles, and other hard objects to avoid scratching the washer interior.
  • Empty pockets and turn them inside out.
  • Turn down cuffs and turn synthetic knits inside out to prevent pilling.
  • Tie strings and sashes to prevent tangling.
  • Treat spots and stains before washing.

Sorting:

  • Separate heavily soiled items from lightly soiled ones.
  • Separate dark colors from light colors, and colorfast items from non-colorfast items.

Loading:

  • Drop items loosely into the washer for best cleaning and wrinkle-free results.
  • Load the washer properly and select the correct load size setting. Overloading or selecting a too-small setting can lead to poor cleaning, increased wrinkling, excessive lint, and faster wear.
  • Mix large and small items in each load to maintain washer balance and prevent vibration during spin.
  • Reduce wash time for small loads.
  • Use a large load size setting for permanent press and synthetic knits to reduce wrinkling, allowing more room for movement.

General Operation Procedure:

  1. Add measured detergent (following manufacturer's directions).
  2. (Optional) Add measured liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach inlet. Do not use powdered bleach or color-safe bleach in this dispenser.
  3. (Optional) Add measured liquid fabric softener to the softener inlet. Avoid dripping or spilling on the load.
  4. Close the washer lid.
  5. Press the POWER button.
  6. Select the desired full-automatic cycle (FUZZY, BLANKET, ECONOMY, SUIT, SOAK).
  7. Press the START/HOLD button.

Water Temperature Selection: Users can choose between COLD, COLD+HOT, or HOT water temperatures. Single valve models do not have this function.

Water Level Adjustment: Water level can be adjusted based on load size: MEDIUM, HIGH, SMALL, LOW.

Pre-engagement Time: The RES button can be used to pre-engage time for washing.

Maintenance Features

Caring for Your Washer:

  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe up detergent, bleach, and other spills with a soft, damp cloth. Periodically wipe the outside to keep it looking new. Avoid placing sharp or metal objects in the washer to prevent damage.
  • Interior Cleaning: Clean the interior with 250ml of chlorine bleach mixed with 500ml of detergent. Run the washer through a complete cycle and repeat if necessary.

Winter Storage or Moving Care:

  • Install and store the washer where it will not freeze, as residual water in hoses can cause damage.
  • To winterize: Turn off water faucet, disconnect and drain water inlet hoses, run the washer on a drain and spin setting for 1 minute, and unplug the power supply cord.
  • To use again: Flush water pipes and hoses, reconnect water inlet hoses, turn on water faucet, and reconnect power supply cord.

Non-use or Vacation Care:

  • If on vacation or not using the washer for an extended period, unplug the power supply cord or turn off electrical power, and turn off the water supply to prevent accidental flooding from water pressure surges.

How to Clean the Filter:

  • Lint Filter: Pull the filter frame upward, turn the lint filter inside out, wash off lint with water, and then reinsert the filter frame into the slot.
  • Water Inlet Filter: Pull out the power plug, turn off water supply, separate the inlet hose, pull out the inlet filter, and remove dirt with a brush.
  • Drain Filter (Pump Model): This filter, located at the back of the washer, screens foreign materials like threads, coins, pins, and buttons. If not cleaned regularly (every 10 uses), it can cause drain problems. To clean: Put down the remaining water in the hose, place a container under the filter, turn the cap counter-clockwise, pull out the filter assembly, clean the drain filter, insert the filter along the guiding prominence of the case (aligning the groove to the guide rib), and turn the cap clockwise tightly.

Removing Stains:

  • Rules: Use warm water for soaking/prewashing. Treat fresh stains promptly. Identify stain and fabric type. Washing/drying can set stains. Use bleach safe for fabric. Apply stain remover to the back of the stain.
  • Guide: Provides specific instructions for various stains including blood, chewing gum, cocoa/chocolate, coffee, cream/milk/ice cream, deodorant, egg, fabric softener, fruit, grass, grease/oil, iron/rust, lipstick, mildew, mud, paint (oil-based/water-based), and scorch marks.

Troubleshooting: The manual includes a troubleshooting guide to help users identify and resolve common issues before calling for service, such as the washer not operating, not supplying water, not draining, or not spinning. It also clarifies normal operating sounds that are not malfunctions.
