Overview

The Daikin Home Controls Access Point (model EKRACPUR1PA) is a key component of the Daikin Home Controls (DHC) ecosystem, designed to connect your smartphone via the ONECTA cloud with all other DHC accessories. It acts as a central hub, transmitting configuration and operating commands from the ONECTA app to the various DHC accessories, allowing users to adjust their DHC ecosystem to their personal needs at any time and place.

Function Description:

The DHC Access Point facilitates wireless communication within the DHC ecosystem. It receives commands from the ONECTA app, which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android devices, and relays them to other DHC accessories. This enables comfortable and individual configuration and control of the entire system. The device operates on two frequency bands: 868.000–868.600 MHz and 869.400–869.650 MHz, adhering to duty cycle limits of <1% per hour and <10% per hour, respectively, to minimize interference and ensure reliable operation. It connects to the network via a 10/100 MBit/s, Auto-MDIX Ethernet interface.

Usage Features:

The DHC Access Point can be either fixed to a wall or placed on a flat surface. For optimal performance, it should be placed close to your router and a power socket, maintaining a minimum distance of 50 cm from your WLAN router. Installation involves connecting the device to the router using the supplied network cable and providing power via the plug-in mains adapter.

Setting up the DHC Access Point requires the ONECTA app. Users must first ensure their Daikin Altherma unit is set up and visible in the app. The setup process involves downloading the ONECTA app, adding the Daikin Altherma unit (if not already visible), then selecting "Add Daikin Home Controls" and "Access Point" within the app, following the on-screen instructions.

Connecting additional DHC accessories is also managed through the ONECTA app. Once the Access Point is ready, users can add other DHC accessories, establish their power supply, and allocate them to different rooms, following the instructions provided in the app and the respective accessory manuals. It is crucial to define accessory names carefully to avoid assignment errors.

The device features a system button and LED on the front for status indication and control. The back of the device includes a QR code and device number (SGTIN), screw holes for mounting, an interface for the network cable, and an interface for the plug-in mains adapter.

Troubleshooting:

The LED indicator provides visual feedback on the device's status:

  • Permanent orange lighting: DHC Access Point is starting. Wait and observe subsequent flashing behavior.
  • Fast blue flashing: Connection to the server is being established. Wait until the connection is established and the LED lights permanently blue.
  • Permanent blue lighting: Normal operation, connection to server is established. Continue operation.
  • Fast yellow flashing: No connection to network or router. Connect the DHC Access Point to the network/router.
  • Permanent yellow lighting: No internet connection. Check the internet connection and firewall settings.
  • Alternately long and short orange flashing: Update in progress. Wait until the update has been completed.
  • Fast red flashing: Error during update. Check the server and internet connection. Restart the DHC Access Point.
  • Fast orange flashing: Stage before restoring factory settings. Long press the system button again for 4 seconds until the LED lights up green.
  • 1x long green lighting: Reset confirmed. Continue the operation.
  • 1x long red lighting: Reset failed. Try again.

The device complies with duty cycle limitations for radio transmission. If the total allowed transmission time is reached (e.g., 36 seconds in 1 hour for a 1% duty cycle), the LED will light up red, and the accessory may be non-responsive for a short period (max. 1 hour) until the time restriction expires.

Restoring Factory Settings:

The DHC Access Point offers two types of resets:

  1. Resetting the DHC Access Point: This restores only the factory settings of the Access Point itself, without deleting the entire installation. To perform this, disconnect the Access Point from power, press the system button while plugging in the mains adapter until the LED flashes orange, release the button, then press it again until the LED lights up green (or red if failed, try again). Release the button to complete the procedure. The accessory will restart and reset.
  2. Resetting and deleting the entire installation: This removes the entire installation, requiring individual DHC accessories to be restored to factory settings and reconnected. During this process, the Access Point must be connected to the cloud via the network cable, and the LED must light up blue continuously. The reset must be performed twice in succession within 5 minutes. First, reset the Access Point as described above. Wait at least 10 seconds until the LED permanently lights up blue. Immediately afterwards, perform the reset a second time by disconnecting and reconnecting power while pressing the system button. After the second restart, the system will be reset. If the DHC Access Point is still visible in the app (offline status), it must be manually removed by clicking the plus symbol (+), selecting "Add Daikin Home Controls," and checking the list.

Maintenance Features:

The DHC Access Point does not require user maintenance. Any repairs should be carried out by an expert. For cleaning, use a soft, lint-free, clean, and dry cloth. For stubborn marks, the cloth can be slightly dampened with lukewarm water. Do not use detergents containing solvents, as they can corrode the plastic housing and label.

Hazard Information:

  • Do not use if there are signs of damage or malfunction. Have it checked by an expert.
  • Do not open the accessory; it contains no user-serviceable parts.
  • Unauthorized changes or modifications are not permitted for safety and licensing reasons (CE).
  • Operate indoors only, protected from moisture, vibrations, solar/heat radiation, cold, and mechanical loads.
  • Not a toy; keep packaging materials away from children.
  • Only use the original power supply unit (5 VDC/550 mA).
  • Connect to an easily accessible power socket; pull the mains plug if a hazard occurs.
  • Lay cables safely to avoid risks to people and animals.
  • Operate only within residential buildings.
  • Using for purposes other than described invalidates warranty/liability.
  • Maintain a minimum distance of 50 cm between DHC accessories.

Disposal:

Do not dispose of with regular domestic waste. Electronic equipment must be disposed of at local collection points for waste electronic equipment in compliance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive.
