2. Engage the locking mechanism by pushing up the lever
as far as it will go.

NOTE
It is good practice to put the reader in the locked
condition at the end of the working shift, or
when not in use for an extended period of time.
This will ensure that the scanner is fully seated
for complete battery recharge.
