2.4.2.1. F1 – Create RAID (new configuration)
1. Creating a “Mirror Set”
First select the “source” and “destination” drives to form the “Mirror Set” from
the drives available.
Then determine whether data blocks are to be copied from the “source” drive
onto the “destination” drive (thus causing possibly existing data of the “destination”
drive to be deleted) or whether the “Mirror Set” is to be newly installed (thus
causing data on both drives to be deleted).
“Mirror Set” capacity always equals the respective lower capacity of the two
individual drives. If you wish to copy existing data of the “source” drive, the
capacity of the destination drive must therefore at least equal that of the “source”
drive.
Once you have made your
selection, you will be ultimately asked
for confirmation by way of a “Yes”/”No”
query. Only now will the RAID set with
the selected settings be created or the
process itself discontinued.
This allows complete new RAID
creation. Possible options are “Mirror Set”
(RAID 1), “Stripe Set” (RAID 0), “Mirror-
Stripe Set” (RAID 10) and “Spare Drive”.
