Overview

This document provides the user manual for the Dawlance Water Dispenser, Model: WD 1051 GB R. It outlines safety instructions, functional overview, parts identification, operation guidelines, cautions, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures.

Function Description

The Dawlance Water Dispenser, Model WD 1051 GB R, is designed for indoor use to provide both hot and cold water. It caters to the needs of tea, coffee, and other beverage preparations. A distinctive thermal isolation technology is incorporated to minimize thermal exchange between hot and cold water, contributing to energy efficiency. This appliance is suitable for household and similar applications, including staff kitchen areas in shops and offices, farmhouses, hotels, motels, other residential environments, and bed and breakfast settings. It is also suitable for catering and similar non-retail applications.

Important Technical Specifications

The water dispenser is designed to operate with 3 or 5-gallon water bottles. It is suitable for environments with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 43°C and relative humidity not exceeding 90%. The refrigerant used in this product is R134a (Hydrofluorocarbon-HFC), which is chosen for its minimal impact on the ozone layer and greenhouse effect. The appliance is not intended to be cleaned by a water jet and must not be immersed. Ventilation openings in the appliance enclosure or built-in structure must be kept clear of obstruction. The defrosting process should only be accelerated by means recommended by the manufacturer. The machine heats water to approximately 85°C.

Usage Features

Operation:

  1. Bottle Installation: After tearing the label from the bottle, vertically insert it into the bottle supporter on top of the machine. It is crucial not to plug in the power cord or push the heating switch until water runs out from the hot water tap, ensuring the system is primed.
  2. Power On: Once water flows from the hot water tap, insert the plug into a socket and turn on the switch. Indicators will light up as the machine begins operation.
  3. Bottle Replacement: When a bottle is empty, vertically pull it out with both hands and replace it with a new one.
  4. Refrigerating Function (Initial Use): When using the refrigerating function for the first time, allow it to operate for at least 2 hours before placing any items into the cabinet. Avoid putting wet or hot goods into the cooling cabinet and ensure sufficient space for interior airflow.
  5. Environmental Conditions: The appliance should work within an ambient temperature range of 10°C to 43°C. It is not suitable for installation in areas where a water jet might be used.

Cautions:

  • Placement: Keep the machine in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Maintain a minimum distance of 75mm from the wall at the rear. Avoid placing the machine on unstable surfaces like paper or foam. Do not place flammable materials near the machine.
  • Power and Water Flow: To prevent damage, ensure water runs from the hot water tap before plugging in the power cord or activating the red switch.
  • Energy Saving: Turn off the hot water switch if hot water is not needed for an extended period to save power.
  • Storage: For long-term non-use, turn off the switch, unplug the machine, and drain any remaining water through the draining outlet.
  • Cleaning Agents: Never use organic liquids to clean the machine.
  • Power Cycling: Do not turn the machine on/off by repeatedly plugging/unplugging it from the socket. Avoid extending the power supply cord to prevent fire hazards.
  • Damaged Cord: If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.
  • Positioning: Never turn the machine upside down or lean it more than 45 degrees.
  • Ice Blockage: If the machine is blocked by ice at the ice point, close the cooling switch for 4 hours before restarting it to resume operation.
  • Restart Delay: Do not turn on the machine until 3 minutes after turning off the power switch.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning and Draining:

  1. Safety First: Always cut off the power supply before any cleaning operation by ensuring the power switch is in the O (off) position and unplugging the dispenser.
  2. Initial Cleaning: The machine is disinfected at the factory, but it should be cleaned prior to installing a full bottle of water for the first time.
  3. Draining Procedure:
    • Vertically insert a bottle into the supporter on top of the machine.
    • Open the tap and let about 1 liter of water flow into a container.
    • Remove the water bottle from the dispenser.
    • Place a large bucket beneath the drain outlet.
    • Remove the drain cover and allow water to drain.
    • After draining, replace the drain cover.
    • Caution: The dispenser heats water to approximately 85°C, which can cause severe burns. Operate carefully.

Sanitizing: The machine should be disinfected with a disinfectant purchased separately from a drugstore or marketplace, following the disinfectant's instruction manual. Afterward, clean it with water as per the cleaning and draining instructions. This process should generally be performed every three months.

Mineral Deposit Removal: To remove mineral deposits, mix 4 liters of water with 200g of citric acid crystals. Inject this solution into the machine, ensuring it flows out of the hot water tap. Switch on the power and heat the solution for about 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, drain off the liquid and clean the machine with water two or three times. This procedure should be done every six months. Do not disassemble the machine yourself to avoid damage or danger.

Spill Free Cap Installation: To maintain hygiene and prevent plastic particles from entering the water dispenser tank, remove the plastic bottle cap and set the Spill Free Cap on the mineral water bottle before placing the bottle on the dispenser.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting chart for common issues:

  • No hot or cold water: Possible causes include overconsumption or no power supply. Solutions involve waiting for water to become available or connecting to power and turning on switches.
  • No water running out of taps: Possible causes are an empty bottle or a blocked inlet. Solutions include replacing the bottle or cleaning out obstructions.
  • Leakage from bottle supporter: Usually due to a broken bottle, requiring replacement.
  • Noisy operation: Often caused by unstable installation, requiring placement on a placid and solid surface.

Warranty: The product comes with a 3-year compressor warranty and a 1-year parts warranty. The compressor will be replaced free of charge once within 3 years if defective, with the cost of gas, parts, labor, home attendance, and transportation borne by the customer. Parts will be repaired or replaced free of charge within one year if defective. Warranty is valid if the warranty card is properly filled and sealed by the dealer, the dispenser has not been repaired by unauthorized personnel, and has been used with a properly earthed 3-pin plug and voltage stabilizer. Warranty is void for abnormal electrical load, short-circuiting, low/high voltage, poor wiring, tampering, misuse, negligence, accident, altered serial number, or damage from insect/rodent bites. Legal liability is governed by Pakistani law, with proceedings brought in Karachi courts. The company is not responsible for loss or damage from product use/operation or installation.
