How accurate are global bathymetric maps?
Global bathymetry is based on processed data: fully depersonalized sonar scan data is combined, processed, and
compared with other relevant geographic data. Deeper UAB further processes this information, eliminating
discrepancies and irrelevant data. Information processing is based on algorithms that evaluate many different
aspects and include only data that is cross-checked. We are constantly improving these algorithms to eliminate
inaccuracies and ensure the highest quality of bathymetric data.
Certain inaccuracies may still occur due to natural causes, such as seasonal changes in water levels, certain
weather conditions, precision of GPS location detected by mobile devices, or coordinates of the geographical map
supplied by a third-party service.
Maps of locations (base maps) provided by external service providers may contain inaccuracies that may affect the
display of global bathymetry (possible visual artifacts such as bathymetry overlapping with the shoreline). Third-
party service providers also keep location maps up to date. If you find any inaccuracies in the bathymetric map or
base map, please report them by email to support@deeper.eu.
As we are continuously gaining new data with new scans, it lets us verify previous data and constantly improve the
quality of the bathymetric maps.
I want a specific bathymetric map removed from Fish Deeper because it is a private or restricted lake.
If a particular lake is owned by you, and you wish its bathymetric data to be removed from the Fish Deeper global
bathymetry, please email us at support@deeper.eu with a proof of ownership, and we will arrange the map to be
removed.
Is my personal data shared with other anglers?
No it’s not. When data is processed to prepare global bathymetric maps for Fish Deeper Premium, it's fully
depersonalized. There are no references left to personal information, sonar data, marks or catches registered by
users, or any other statistics, just the coordinates and the depth at that spot. Your personal bathymetric maps,
sonar scans, and points of interest cannot be accessed by anyone, and you are the only one who can view them.
Global bathymetry is based on processed data, combined from different scans made with Deeper Sonars. Such
data is fully depersonalized, there are no references left to personal information, sonar data, marks, or catches
registered by users. Only depth and GPS coordinate data are being used. Then it's grouped by waters, compared
with other relevant geographic data. Deeper additionally eliminates discrepancies, based on algorithms that
evaluate many different aspects, and the final product includes only data that is cross-checked.
