6 Crowning
6.1 Introduction
In the auxiliary axes menu you can program the required axes. The number of axes you can
program depends on the type of control.
The following axes combinations can be programmed:
• Calculated crowning value: choose axis type ‘CROWNa’
• Non calculated crowning value: choose axis type ‘CROWN’.
Both axis types can be used for AC crowning and hydraulic crowning. In section 6.3 the
parameters are discussed in order of appearance. The connection and adjustment of an AC
crowning device is different from the connection of an hydraulic crowning device. Another
difference is the fact that AC crowning has a position feedback and hydraulic crowning not.
If you have programmed the required ‘axis type’ you can program the corresponding parameters
after pressing the softkey ‘change parameters’.
