9.2.3 Adjustment procedures
There are several adjustment procedures to program the part support. The following adjustment
procedures can be executed:
determination of Max AD-value and Min. AD-value;
determination of the maximum angle speed of the part support;
adjustment procedure of control gains:
- adjustment of proportional gain max;
- adjustment of proportional gain min;
- adjustment of feedforward gains;
- adjustment of differential gains.
Initial values
Before starting adjustment procedures, some parameters should be set to initial values:
Min. Angle = ..(machine dependent)
Max. Angle = ..(machine dependent)
Max. angle speed = 0 °/s
Mean angle speed: low = 1 °/s
high = 1 °/s
Proportional gain: min. = 1
max. = 1
Feedforward gain: min. = 0
max. = 0
Differential gain: min. = 0
max. = 0
Adjustment mode = 0
In position tolerance = .. ° (to be determined by user)
Determination of Max AD-value and Min. AD-value
The voltage signal from the potentiometer is converted to a digital value. The parameters for
AD-values serve to indicate which value represents the minimum angle and which value the
maximum angle. The range for AD-points is 0 - 1023. These AD-values can be determined in
the diagnostic mode. Proceed as follows:
1. Go to diagnostic program, select ‘DM Module Test’ and select the module for part support.
2. Move the cursor to ‘Output 0’.
3. Position the part support with the handwheel at its minimum angle, read the AD-value at
‘Input1’. This will be the minimum AD-value.
4. Position the part support with the handwheel at its maximum angle, read the AD-value at
‘Input1’. This will be the maximum AD-value.
5. Go to the digital part support machine parameters (Axis-type 6 and Text no 21) and set the
parameters ‘Min. AD-value’ and ‘Max. AD-value’ to the values found at point 3 and 4.
