Overview

This document is a user manual for a DELLA Split Air Conditioner, providing comprehensive instructions for its operation, maintenance, and installation. It emphasizes safety precautions, proper usage, and troubleshooting tips to ensure efficient and safe functioning of the appliance.

Function Description

The DELLA Split Air Conditioner is designed to provide cooling and heating (for heat pump models) for indoor spaces. It consists of an indoor unit and an outdoor unit, working in conjunction to regulate room temperature and humidity. The system utilizes a refrigerant fluid to transfer heat, ensuring comfortable indoor conditions. The air conditioner also features a dehumidifying function, which helps reduce moisture in the air.

Usage Features

The air conditioner offers various operational modes, including cooling, heating, and dehumidification, allowing users to select the most suitable setting for their comfort. The indoor unit is equipped with an air inlet grille, air filter, air louver, and air vent, while the outdoor unit features an air outlet grille. Airflow direction can be adjusted using the remote controller, with options for up-down and left-right swing. For models without an automatic left-right swing function, the fins can be manually adjusted.

The unit is controlled via a remote controller, which allows users to turn the appliance on/off, select modes, and adjust settings such as temperature and fan speed. In case the remote controller is lost or broken, an emergency operation is possible using a force switch button on the indoor unit. When the unit is off, pressing this button will operate the air conditioner in Auto mode. If the unit is on, pressing the button will stop it.

The manual highlights specific conditions for normal operation, including temperature ranges for cooling and heating. It advises against operating the air conditioner when the temperature is too high, as it may activate automatic protection devices and shut down. Similarly, operating in very low temperatures can cause the heat exchanger to freeze, leading to water leakage or other malfunctions. For long-term cooling or dehumidification in high humidity conditions (above 80% with open doors and windows), water condensation or dripping near the air outlet may occur.

During heating operation, the indoor unit's fan will not start immediately to prevent blowing out cool air. The outdoor unit may also undergo a defrost cycle in cold and wet conditions, which temporarily stops heating for 5-12 minutes. Vapor may be emitted from the outdoor unit during defrost, which is a normal occurrence. Heating resumes once defrost is complete. When the air conditioner is turned off, the main controller may continue to run for a short period at lower frequency and air speed before stopping completely.

Safety is a paramount concern, and the manual provides several warnings and cautions. Users are advised to ensure the air conditioner is properly grounded to prevent electric shocks. The power supply should always be switched off and disconnected when the unit is not in use for extended periods, or before any maintenance or cleaning. The power cable should not be pulled, and wet hands should not be used to touch the power switch. Sharing electrical sockets with other appliances is discouraged to prevent short circuits, fire, and explosion. An earth leakage breaker with appropriate capacity must be installed.

The air conditioner should not be installed in locations with flammable gas, liquids, or strong aggressive gases, and a minimum distance of 3.3 feet from such substances should be maintained. It should also be kept away from strong artificial electric/magnetic fields, noisy areas, and severe natural conditions like heavy lampblack, sandy wind, direct sunshine, or high-temperature heat sources. The appliance is not intended for purposes other than temperature control, such as drying clothes or preserving food. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance, and cleaning should not be performed by children without supervision.

For optimal performance, users are advised not to open windows and doors for extended periods while the air conditioner is running, as this can weaken cooling or heating capacity. Applying cold air to the body for long periods is discouraged due to potential health problems. Setting a suitable temperature is recommended to prevent electricity waste.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficient operation of the DELLA Split Air Conditioner. The manual outlines several maintenance tasks that users can perform.

Before any cleaning or maintenance, the air conditioner must be shut down, and the electricity supply must be cut off for at least 5 minutes to prevent electric shocks. The unit should never be wet or rinsed with water. Volatile liquids like thinner or gasoline should not be used for cleaning the housing; instead, a soft dry cloth or a damp cloth moistened with neutral detergent is recommended.

The air filter requires regular cleaning to prevent dust and dirt accumulation, which can impair its function. In dusty environments, the cleaning frequency should be increased. When removing the filter, users should avoid touching the fin part of the indoor unit to prevent scratches. To clean the panel of the indoor unit, a wrung towel with tepid water (below 113°F) should be used, and the panel should not be removed during cleaning.

To clean the air filter, users should open the panel from both ends, release the air filter from its slot, and remove it. The filter can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or water. For very dirty filters (e.g., with greasy dirt), warm water (below 113°F) with mild detergent dissolved in it can be used. After cleaning, the filter should be dried in the shade before reinstallation. Reinstallation involves placing the dried filter back into its slot and covering and locking the panel.

Before use, users should check that all air inlets and outlets are unblocked, the drain pipe's water outlet is clear, the ground wire is reliably connected, and the remote control batteries are installed and sufficiently powered. Any damage to the outdoor unit's mounting bracket should be reported to a local service center.

After use, especially for long periods of inactivity, the power source should be cut off, the circuit breaker turned off, and batteries removed from the remote control. The filter and unit body should be cleaned, and dust and debris removed from the outdoor unit. Again, any damage to the outdoor unit's mounting bracket should prompt contact with a local service center.

Troubleshooting tips are provided for common issues such as the air conditioner not operating, remote controller unavailability, poor cooling/heating efficiency, delayed startup, unusual odors, running water sounds, and mist from the indoor unit outlet. For serious issues like shrill sounds, unpleasant odors, abnormal heat in the power cord/plug, accidental spills, or frequent circuit breaker trips, users are advised to immediately stop all operations, cut off the power supply, and contact a local service center.

The manual also includes information on WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) warning, emphasizing that electrical appliances should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste but rather through separate collection facilities. Retailers are legally obligated to take back old appliances for disposal free of charge when new ones are purchased. The product contains fluorinated greenhouse gases, and refrigerant leakage contributes to climate change. Users are warned not to interfere with the refrigerant circuit themselves and to always seek professional assistance. The fuse specifications are printed on the circuit board.
