This document describes the Dellonda 18ft Deluxe Steel Swimming Pool with Filter Pump, Model No. DL22, and its associated filter pump.
Function Description
The Dellonda 18ft Deluxe Steel Swimming Pool is a portable, seasonal swimming pool designed for outdoor domestic use. It features an anti-corrosion steel structure and triple-layered PVC walls, providing strength and durability. The pool is supplied with a filter pump, ladder, ground sheet, cover, and repair kit, offering a complete solution for water recreation. The filter pump is designed to remove dirt and small particles from the pool water, contributing to water clarity. However, it emphasizes that consistent chemical treatment is crucial for maintaining clear, algae-free, and safe water. The ladder provides safe access to and from the pool.

Usage Features
- Easy Setup: The pool is designed for easy setup with no tools required. Installation and assembly should be done by adults. The total installation time, excluding site preparation and water filling, is approximately 45 minutes, requiring at least two adults.
- Site Selection: Crucial for safe and proper operation. The chosen area must be firm, flat (no bumps or mounds of earth), and extremely level, with a grade not exceeding 3° of slope. It must be free of sticks, stones, sharp objects, or other foreign debris. The site should not be directly underneath overhead power lines or trees and should not contain underground utility pipes, lines, or cables. An open location exposed to direct sunlight is recommended to help warm the pool. The ground cloth, if provided, should be used to protect the pool liner.
- Filling the Pool: It is critical not to leave the pool unattended while filling. If more than 1-2 inches of water collects on one side before central filling, the pool is not level and must be corrected by draining and relocating. The pool should not be overfilled, as this could cause collapse. The recommended water level is 90% of the wall height.
- Ladder Use: The ladder must be placed on level, firm ground and assembled according to manufacturer instructions. Users should only climb using the footsteps. It should not be used for any other purpose. Metal ladders conduct electricity, so contact with live electrical wires must be avoided. The ladder should be removed from the pool immediately after use and stored.
- Safety Signage: A safety sign (No diving, Wear personal flotation devices, Keep children under supervision in the aquatic environment) must be posted in a prominent visible position within 2m of the pool or glued to the pool wall near entry/exit.
- Filter Pump Operation: The filter pump should be placed at least 0.2m below the pool water level and not more than 1m below it. It must be mounted on solid, even ground and secured to prevent accidental falling. The pump should not be used by children. It is designed ONLY for use with storable pools, not permanently installed ones. The pump must not be run dry, and air in the system should be purged to prevent damage. The pump must not be used when people are in the water.
- Water Treatment: Consistent chemical treatment (chlorine, pH adjusters, algaecides, shock) is essential for maintaining safe and clear water. Chemicals should never be added while the pool is occupied. Users should verify the exact quantity and type of chemicals before adding them and never mix separate chemicals. Pool water should be frequently tested for pH and chlorine levels using a suitable testing kit.
- Debris Removal: A leaf skimmer and garden hose-powered vacuum can be used to remove larger debris and clean the pool liner.
Maintenance Features
- General Pool Maintenance: Regular cleaning and proper maintenance are crucial for the pool's longevity and user health. This includes checking bolts and hardware for rust, monitoring water levels (especially after rainfall), and ensuring accessible surfaces are checked for injuries.
- Filter Pump Maintenance: The filter cartridge (P6) should be checked every two weeks (or more frequently with heavy usage) for cleaning or replacement. It can be sprayed clean with a strong blast of water; if not cleanable, it must be replaced. The filter chamber (P7) should be checked for dirt or sediment and flushed if necessary. All O-rings must be correctly positioned when reassembling the filter.
- Ladder Maintenance: Periodic maintenance on screws (applying anti-rust oil when not in use) is recommended. The ladder should be kept clean and free of foreign materials.
- Storage (Pool): For long-term storage, especially in temperate areas, the pool should be completely drained, cleaned, and thoroughly dried. Leaving the pool exposed to sunlight for a few hours aids drying. It should never be folded or stowed if not completely dry to prevent mold/mildew. The pool and all accessories (pump, cover, ground cloth, ladder, hoses, clamps, hardware) should be stored indoors in a reasonably warm, dry, and weatherproof location, away from sharp or heavy objects.
- Storage (Ladder): The ladder should be stored in a safe, dry place, out of children's reach. It should not be used or stored in temperatures below -5°C. All components should be disassembled and dried thoroughly before storage.
- Repair: Small pinhole and puncture leaks can be repaired with the included repair patch. For larger damaged areas, a silicone or rubber-based glue is recommended. The repair area must be clean and dry before applying the patch, and sufficient drying time (30 minutes for patch, 12 hours for glue, plus 4 hours for edge seal) is required.
- Environmental Protection: Unwanted packaging materials should be recycled. The product, at the end of its useful life, should be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way, with fluids drained into approved containers. The product contains batteries and should be disposed of according to Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009.
