Overview

This document describes the Lithium-Iron Phosphate Battery User Operation Manual for household energy storage systems manufactured by Shenzhen Delong Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The product, identified as the DELONGTOP LFP-51200 series, is designed to provide reliable power for various equipment and systems, particularly in scenarios requiring high power, limited installation space, and long cycle life.

Function Description

The DELONGTOP LFP-51200 series is a household energy storage battery system that utilizes Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology. It is designed to support customization, offer indoor mobility and space-saving features, and facilitate communication with inverters. The system is modular, allowing multiple battery modules to be connected in parallel to expand capacity and power, catering to larger capacity and longer power supporting duration requirements. Each module has a built-in Battery Management System (BMS) that manages and monitors cell information, including voltage, current, and temperature, and balances cell charging and discharging to extend cycle life.

The BMS provides protection functions against over-discharge, over-charge, over-current, and high/low temperatures. It automatically manages the charge and discharge state and balances the current and voltage of each cell. The system adopts a self-cooling mode to rapidly reduce overall system noise. Dry contacts are reserved for external I/O port control signals.

Usage Features

The battery system is designed for ease of use and flexibility:

  • Modular Design: Multiple battery modules can be connected in parallel to expand capacity and power, supporting up to 50Kwh by stacking 10Kwh units.
  • Self-cooling: Reduces system noise.
  • Low Self-Discharge: Up to 6 months without charging when stored on a shelf.
  • No Memory Effect: Excellent performance for shallow charge and discharge cycles.
  • Wide Operating Temperature Range: -10°C to 50°C for working (charging 0~50°C; discharging -20~60°C).
  • Compact and Lightweight: Standard embedded design for comfortable installation and maintenance.
  • DIP (ADD) Switches: Four switches allow defining different address codes for each battery module when multiple modules are cascaded, supporting up to 15 addresses. The address corresponding to ADD1 is the host, and all others are slaves.
  • RESET Switch: Used to activate the protection plate from hibernation (3-6s press), put the protection board to sleep from active state (3-6s press), or reset the protection plate (6-10s press).
  • Display: Shows battery information.
  • ON/OFF Light: Constantly on after boot, off after extinguish.
  • Run Light: Indicates the Power Switch is ON and the BMS has electricity.
  • Alarm Light: Red for failure, green for normal.
  • Battery Indicator: Six lights display current power.

Installation requires specific conditions:

  • The installation area must be completely waterproof.
  • The floor must be flat and level.
  • No flammable or explosive materials should be present.
  • Ambient temperature should be between 0°C and 50°C.
  • Temperature and humidity must be constant.
  • Minimal dust and dirt in the area.

Installation procedure involves:

  1. Placing batteries on the base.
  2. Connecting cables between battery modules.
  3. Connecting the communication cable between battery modules.
  4. Connecting cables to the inverter. After installation, double-check all power and communication cables, then switch on all battery modules. The green LED light will illuminate.

Maintenance Features

Proper use and maintenance are crucial for reliable and consistent operation over a long period.

  • Qualified Personnel: Installation and servicing must be performed only by qualified personnel equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment (eye protection, gloves, apron, mask) and following safe electrical work practices. Metal/conductive jewelry should be removed.
  • Insulated Tools: Strongly recommended to prevent sparks or short circuits. If unavailable, exposed metal surfaces of tools should be covered with electrical tape.
  • Temperature Sensitivity: Batteries should be installed in a stable temperature environment for optimum performance.
  • Recycling: Old batteries must be recycled; contact local recycling centers for proper disposal.
  • Pre-installation Check: After unpacking, verify product functionality. Ensure grid power is cut off and the battery is in the turned-off mode before installation.
  • Wiring: Wiring must be correct, avoiding positive/negative cable mistakes and short circuits. Do not connect the battery directly to AC power.
  • Grounding: The battery system must be well grounded (resistance less than 1Ω).
  • Compatibility: Ensure electrical parameters of the battery system are compatible with related equipment.
  • Safety Precautions: Keep the battery away from water and fire.
  • Disconnection: If moving or repairing the battery system, power must be cut off and the battery completely shut down.
  • Battery Mixing: Prohibited to connect the battery with different types of batteries.
