Notes:
a) The Rsel value characterises the probe model.
b) The Range A and Range B signals, leaving the instrument, manage the switching of the probe
signal amplification on four decades.
c) The +5V and -5V power supplies leaving the instrument are intended solely for feeding the cir-
cuitry of the Delta Ohm probes.
HOW TO MEASURE
1. Press the ON/OFF key to switch on the instrument
* This operation enables the automatic cut-out timer, which intervenes after about 8 minutes of
keyboard inactivity. Whenever a key is pressed the timer is re-enabled.
If you wish to suppress the automatic cut-out function, you must hold down the HOLD button
while switching on the instrument by pressing the ON/OFF button; the HOLD button should
be held down for the duration of the switching-on routine. In this condition the battery symbol
flashes at a frequency of 1 Hz, indicating that the Auto Power Off function is disabled.
* When the instrument is switched on all the numbers and symbols on the display and all the
leds on the keyboard light up for a few moments, allowing you to check that they are working
correctly. The change-over to normal operation is automatic.
2. Checking display
* After all the segments are lit, the instrument is ready to measure in the unit set before the
instrument was switched off.
* If a probe is broken or is not properly connected, the ERR signal appears. In this case the sen-
sor part and/or the connector must be checked.
3. Selection of the measuring unit
* Press the Unit A key repeatedly to select the measuring unit for input A (visible at the top of the
display); press the Unit B key to select the measuring unit for input B (visible at the bottom of
the display).
4. Switching off the instrument
* The instrument is switched on and off by pressing the ON/OFF key. Because of the Auto Power
Off function the instrument may switch itself off during measurements. In this case press the
ON/OFF key to switch it on again.
* The instrument usually switches off automatically after 8 minutes of inactivity, with the following
exceptions:
a) Instrument in RCD status.
b) Auto Power Off function disabled.
In these two cases the instrument switches off only when the ON/OFF key is pressed.
c) Instrument during unloading of stored data.
d) Instrument during Serial Output of immediate data.
