Overview

This document describes the Delta Essentials Steam Cleaner, model GT-DR-01, an appliance designed for household cleaning using steam.

Function Description

The Delta Essentials Steam Cleaner is used to remove dust and embedded dirt from various surfaces using water vapor. It is suitable for private use in an enclosed environment and not intended for professional use. The cleaning effect of the device depends on the temperature, pressure, and amount of steam, as well as the distance between the steam jet and the surface being cleaned. The hot steam helps to dissolve dirt without the need for chemicals or detergents, making it suitable for individuals with detergent allergies. It can clean hard-to-reach places that cloths and brushes might miss, leveraging its various accessories. One liter of water can produce approximately 1500 liters of steam, capable of cleaning an area of about 120 m². After steam treatment, surfaces need to be dried with a cloth.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Warranty: 3 years parts and labor warranty.

Usage Features

The steam cleaner comes with several components and accessories to facilitate various cleaning tasks:

  • Steam button: Activates the steam jet.
  • Tank cap: Secures the water tank.
  • Swivelling nozzle: Directs the steam.
  • Tank: Holds the water.
  • Steam hose: Required for window-cleaning and floor nozzles.
  • Window-cleaning tool: Suitable for glass surfaces, mirrors, and windows. It is used by moving it from top to bottom and drying the surface with its rubber flap. Excess water and corners are dried with a soft cloth. This tool requires the floor nozzle to be attached first.
  • Direct jet nozzle: Used for general house cleaning, such as in cracks, radiator ridges, toilets, and seals. Embedded dirt should be dried with a rag after spraying.
  • Floor nozzle: Used for cleaning rugs, padded seats, or car seats. When used with the adapted fabric, it can treat dust and embedded dirt and dry them simultaneously. It is also suitable for walls, tiles, and other smooth, solid surfaces.
  • Corner nozzle: Can be assembled onto the direct jet nozzle for difficult-to-access areas.
  • Round brush: Can be assembled onto the direct jet nozzle for embedded dirt, provided the surface is compatible with its use.
  • Power cable: Connects the device to the mains.
  • Funnel and Beaker: For filling the water tank.
  • Floor nozzle cloth: Used with the floor nozzle.

First Set Up and Water Filling: Before use, all parts should be unpacked and checked for integrity. Accessories are assembled by sliding them onto the appliance and turning clockwise until they click into place. The hose and direct jet nozzle are screwed together. The water tank should only be filled with fresh, clean water (250 ml, about 1.5 beakerfuls) using the funnel, ensuring not to overfill. Distilled water is recommended for hard water areas. The plug must be removed from the wall socket before filling.

Operation:

  1. Insert the plug into a wall socket. The steam light will switch on, indicating the appliance is warming up.
  2. The light switches off after a few minutes, signaling readiness for use.
  3. Activate the steam button to generate a steam jet, keeping the device level to prevent dripping and burns. The steam flow increases with the duration of button usage.
  4. Initially, direct the appliance onto a fabric until steam comes out without forming water drops.
  5. Direct the steam onto the area to be cleaned using the selected accessory.
  6. Release the steam button to stop the steam jet. Droplets of water are normal, especially after start-up. The light turning on and off during operation indicates steam usage and generation, which does not typically require stopping work.

Safety Precautions:

  • Never direct boiling hot steam at people, animals, plants, or delicate objects.
  • Keep the device level during operation to avoid dripping and burns.
  • Be cautious with glass surfaces due to temperature differences; spray cold surfaces carefully from a distance and heat gradually.
  • Ensure the surface to be cleaned is solid, resistant to abrasions, and sturdy, especially when using brushes, to prevent damage.
  • Do not open the filling valve while the appliance is functioning.
  • Protect forearms from steam.
  • Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning, putting away, emptying, or refilling.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, power cable, or plug in water or any other liquid.
  • Do not use in a swimming pool.
  • Always dry hands before handling.
  • Connect only to an earthed mains socket with corresponding voltage.
  • The wall socket should be easily accessible for rapid plug removal in emergencies.
  • Do not use if the appliance, accessories, power cable, or plug are damaged, or if the appliance has fallen.
  • Avoid damaging the power cable by sharp edges or hot objects; do not fold or crush it.
  • Do not carry or pull the steam cleaner by its cable.
  • Do not leave the appliance connected unsupervised.
  • Do not direct the steam jet at electrical appliances or installations.
  • Remove the plug from the wall socket when not in use, before filling, cleaning, putting away, changing accessories, in case of malfunction, or during a storm.
  • Always pull the plug, not the cable.
  • Do not modify the appliance or cable.
  • Do not use without water.
  • Do not use accessories from other manufacturers.
  • Keep packaging and small items away from children.
  • The appliance is not for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities, or lack of experience, unless supervised or instructed. Children should be supervised to prevent them from playing with the appliance.

Surfaces to be Cared For:

  • Leather, Glazed wood, Unvarnished wood, Synthetic material (general): May bleach.
  • Synthetic material (soft): May lose its shape.
  • Glass/mirror: May break due to boiling hot steam on cold surfaces. Spray from a distance and heat gradually.
  • Materials sensitive to temperature or water-soluble glue: May be ruined or dissolve.

Maintenance Features

After Use:

  1. Remove the plug from the wall socket.
  2. Activate the steam button to clear any remaining pressure until no more steam comes out.
  3. Place a cloth over the tank cap as it heats up during use. Press the button, then turn the cap anti-clockwise to remove it, and proceed to refill as specified under "Adding the water" if needed.
  4. Allow the appliance to cool down completely before putting it away or cleaning.
  5. The floor nozzle cloth (if used) heats up considerably; let it cool before removing.

Cleaning:

  • Never immerse the appliance, plug, or power cable in water or any other liquid.
  • Remove the plug from the wall socket before cleaning.
  • Allow the appliance to cool down entirely before cleaning, as it remains extremely hot after use.
  • Clean the housing and accessories with a slightly damp cloth.
  • The floor nozzle cloth can be washed in a washing machine at 60°C (refer to its label).

Recycling:

  • Dispose of packaging by separating materials.
  • Consult local waste elimination companies for proper scrapping measures if the appliance is no longer needed. Do not discard with kitchen refuse.

Warranty and Support: The product comes with a 3-year warranty. For warranty claims, retain the sales receipt and contact the service center via the provided helplines or email.
