If an Interleaved 2 of 5 barcode contains an odd number of characters, a leading zero must be appended. Scan the appro-
priate barcode to choose whether to transmit the appended “0”.
Interleaved 2 of 5 has an optional last check digit. The check digit is used to verify the integrity of the data.
