Usage Features:

  • Curing Programs:
    • Program 1: Full power till end.
    • Program 2: Soft start in the first 5 seconds to full power till end.
    • Program 3: Soft start in the first 5 seconds to half power till end.
  • Curing Time Settings:
    • DY400-4(5W): 5/10/15/20/25/30/35/40 seconds.
    • DY400-4(7W): 5/10/15/20 seconds.
    • For soft start programs (Program 2 and 3), the curing time should start from 10 seconds. Users should follow the composite's original instructions.
  • Cord/Cordless Interchangeable: The unit can be used cordlessly with its battery or directly with the power charger when the battery is depleted.
  • Beep Sound Design: The device beeps every 5 seconds to remind the user of the remaining curing time.
  • Battery Sign: A flashing battery icon indicates the need for charging (at least 2.5 hours). A full, non-flashing battery icon indicates a fully charged battery.
  • Specially Made Battery: Designed to support continuous operation for 40 minutes and frequent use of longer curing times (35S and 40S). It ensures an inactive time of 200 hours, meaning it retains power for about three months when not in use.
  • Eye-Protection Cover: Includes an autoclavable eye-protection cover tip.
  • Radiating Fan (DY400-4 7W only): Equipped with a radiating fan to ensure continuous operation without overheating, guaranteeing performance stability.
  • Built-in Intensity Meter: Located on the front of the charging base, it allows users to check the light intensity. By inserting the light guide into the test hole, LED indicators light up to show intensity. Five bright indicators signify at least 1000 mW/cm², while three bright indicators suggest lower intensity, prompting the user to charge the unit. The reading is a reference for adjusting curing time, and dentists should still follow composite manufacturers' curing procedures.
  • Sleeping Mode: The handpiece enters sleeping mode after 2 minutes of inactivity to save power, shutting down all functions except battery, beep, and curing program signs on the LCD panel.
  • Operation:
    • Turning On: Extended press of the power button.
    • Setting Curing Program: Short press the function switch to cycle through programs.
    • Setting Curing Timer: Press the "CYCLE" function switch to select curing time.
    • Starting/Interrupting Operation: Press the curing switch to start; press again to interrupt.
    • Low Battery Sign: A flashing low battery sign indicates the need for immediate charging or continuous use with the charger.
    • Turning Off: (Not explicitly stated, but implied by turning on, likely an extended press or automatic shutdown in sleeping mode).
  • Light Guide Installation: Insert the light guide directly into the handpiece, ensuring it is fully inserted and fixed. It can be rotated. After use, it can be carefully pulled out and stored.
  • Eye-Protection Cover Installation: Insert directly onto the front of the handpiece; it can be rotated when properly installed.
  • Working Distance: The light source must aim at the fixed position, with a working distance within 3mm. The depth of polymerization should be at least 2mm. Curing layer by layer is recommended for thick materials.

Maintenance Features:

  • No Private Dismantling: The unit should not be dismantled by unauthorized personnel, as this will damage it.
  • Cleaning and Storage: For long periods of non-use, the unit should be cleaned and stored in its original packaging in a dry and clean cupboard to prevent drops.
  • Light Guide Cleanliness: Ensure no resin or material sticks to the light guide. Clean immediately with a cloth if materials are present to maintain light output and curing performance.
  • Sterilization: The light guide should be sterilized after each use. It can be safely autoclaved at 121°C, 1060hPa for 30 minutes.
  • Accessory Disinfection: Other accessories close to patients (e.g., oval protector) should be scrubbed with pure water or antiseptic, following standard disinfection procedures.
  • Charger Use: Only use the original charger to prevent damage to the battery, electric circuit, or the machine itself.

Safety Precautions:

  • Read the usage manual carefully before operation.
  • CAUTION: This curing unit produces high output curing energy. Do not place light directly on or toward unprotected gingival or skin.
  • The light source must directly target the resin material for polymerization in clinical use. Improper radiation should be avoided.
  • CAUTION: Do not look directly at the emitted light. Use suitable protective eyewear (blocking energy below 550nm) for the operator, assistant, and patient.
  • CAUTION: Persons with a history of photosensitive reactions or those using photosensitizing drugs should not be exposed to light from this unit.
  • CAUTION: Equipment is not suitable for use in the presence of flammable anesthetic mixtures with air or nitrous oxide.
  • Check local AC power supply voltage before purchasing overseas.
  • The curing light should be stored in its original packing box in a dry and clean cupboard to prevent drops.
  • The device is not user-repairable and contains no user-serviceable parts. No modification of this equipment is allowed.
  • Users must verify that the equipment functions safely and is in proper working condition before use.
  • The manufacturer does not require preventive inspections by other persons.

Warranty Statement:

The instrument is guaranteed against original defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date of purchase. Warranty is void if the product is repaired, modified, misused, disassembled, or if non-manufacturer parts are used, or if the serial number is defaced or missing. Accessories have a 6-month guarantee. Damaged or needed accessories can be purchased from the seller.
