Overview

The TSP-505 is a trolley Bluetooth speaker designed for portable audio playback and entertainment, featuring a rugged casing and wheels for easy transport. It supports various audio input sources, including Bluetooth, FM radio, USB, and Line-In, making it versatile for different usage scenarios. The speaker also incorporates features for singing along, sound effects, and light effects to enhance the user experience.

Function Description

The primary function of the TSP-505 is to act as a portable Bluetooth speaker, allowing users to stream audio wirelessly from their Bluetooth-enabled devices. It also functions as an FM radio, enabling users to tune into their favorite stations. For local media playback, the speaker includes a USB port to play music directly from a USB stick. A Line-In input provides compatibility with a wide range of audio devices that have a 3.5mm audio output jack, allowing for wired connections.

Beyond basic audio playback, the TSP-505 offers karaoke-style features, allowing users to sing along with music playing from Bluetooth, USB, or Line-In sources. It supports two microphones simultaneously, with adjustable microphone volume and echo levels. The speaker also includes sound effects with a built-in equalizer offering preset options like FLAT, CLASSIC, POP, ROCK, and JAZZ to tailor the audio output to different music genres. Light effects, including an LED lantern and disco light, add a visual dimension to the audio experience, making it suitable for parties or events.

The device is powered by a rechargeable sealed lead-acid battery, offering portability without the need for a constant power connection. It also supports smartphone and tablet recharging via a dedicated 1A USB charger port, which works when the speaker is connected to AC power.

Usage Features

The TSP-505 is designed for ease of use with a clear control panel and indicators. The power ON/OFF switch controls the main power to the unit. Upon powering on, the speaker defaults to Bluetooth mode, indicated by a flashing blue LED and "bt" on the RED LED display, signaling it's ready for pairing. Users can easily connect their Bluetooth devices by searching for "TSP-505." A connected sound signal and a steady blue LED confirm a successful connection. The BT DISCONNECT/BT PAIR key allows users to disconnect paired devices and re-enter pairing mode.

To switch between audio sources, the "Source" button cycles through Radio, USB, and Line-In modes, with the selected mode or frequency displayed on the RED LED. In FM Radio mode, users can auto-search and store stations by holding the play/pause key. Tuning up or down is done with the TU ◄◄/►►I buttons, with short presses for fine-tuning and long presses for selecting stored stations.

For USB playback, inserting a USB stick automatically switches the unit to USB mode if it's currently in Bluetooth mode. Users can navigate tracks using the TU ◄◄/►►I buttons and repeat songs or all songs with the "REP" key. The Line-In mode is activated by plugging a 3.5mm cable into the input jack, allowing audio playback from external devices.

Microphone inputs (MIC 1 and MIC 2) are available for sing-along functions. Microphone volume can be adjusted using the "MIC + / MIC –" controls, and echo levels are controlled by "EH + / EH –" buttons. The overall volume of the speaker is managed by a rotary volume control. Light effects are controlled by short and long presses of a dedicated button, toggling the LED lantern and disco light.

The speaker includes several indicators for operational status: a power indicator, a Bluetooth indicator, an LED display for modes/frequencies, and battery indicators (low and full). The battery low indicator flashes when recharging is needed, and the battery full indicator changes color (orange during charging, green when fully charged) to provide clear status updates.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the TSP-505. The manual emphasizes several safety instructions, including ensuring the power plug is fully inserted, not operating the product with a damaged cord or adapter, and avoiding modifications or unauthorized repairs. The product should always be unplugged with dry hands and before cleaning.

For battery maintenance, it is recommended to fully charge the battery for about 6 hours before initial use. To preserve the rechargeable battery's condition, users are advised to turn the power ON/OFF switch to "Off" after use and before storage. Additionally, fully recharging the battery at least once every two months is recommended. The manual also cautions against replacing the battery incorrectly, as it poses an explosion risk, and advises consulting authorized service centers for battery-related issues.

The speaker has an energy-saving feature where it automatically enters standby mode after 20 minutes of inactivity and then auto-powers off, helping to conserve battery life. If the unit experiences issues like no power, unresponsive keys, or no sound, troubleshooting steps include checking power connections, resetting the unit by cycling the power switch, and ensuring volumes are set to reasonable levels. For Bluetooth connectivity issues, users are advised to check device proximity, ensure no other devices are connected, and re-enter pairing mode if necessary.

Regarding the battery, it is a sealed lead-acid type (Tianchang 6-FM-5A, 12V, 5000mAh). The charging process is indicated by a red LED, which turns off when fully charged. A full charge from a depleted state takes approximately 3 hours and provides about 2 hours of continuous playback, though this can vary with volume level and environmental conditions. It is also advised to wait 10-20 minutes before recharging a battery that has completely run flat during operation.

The manual also provides general cautions, such as keeping the unit away from dripping or splashing liquids, ensuring adequate ventilation (minimum 10 cm clearance), and not obstructing ventilation openings. It also warns against placing naked flame sources on the apparatus. The AC/DC adapter serves as the disconnect device and should be readily accessible and unobstructed. The device is suitable for use in tropical climates.
