Shroud should be mounted tight against radiator to minimize air leaks that would reduce efficiency.
MOUNTING OPTIONS

MOUNTING
1. Install the Rubber Fan Shroud Seal. (See Diagram #4)
2. Position the electric fan in the desired location. Taking the
Angle Brackets supplied determine the best locations for a
good rigid mount. (See Diagram #2 & 3)
3. Take the four Angle Brackets, 1/4” Hex Bolts, Washers
and Nyloc Nuts provided and attach brackets to the fan
shroud in the desired location.
Flat washers must go between the Angle Bracket
and the shroud. (See Diagram #4)
4. In some applications where the radiator flange is not right
up against the fan shroud, longer bolts can be used to
space Angle Brackets properly. Hardware not included.
(See Diagram #5)
5. Using the remaining 1/4” Hex Bolts, Washers and Nyloc
Nuts provided, mount the Fan Shroud Assembly to the
radiator. (See Diagram #4)
In some cases the radiator flange may have to be
drilled for proper alignment.

This fan assembly is designed for PULLER APPLICATIONS
Engine side of radiator. (See Diagram #1)ONLY
TOOLS NEEDED
7/16” Open End Wrench
7/16” Socket and Ratchet
Standard Screw Driver or
5/16” Nut Driver
Drill
5/32” Drill Bit
12V Test Light
Wire Stripper
Crimping Tool
RELAY WIRE HARNESS MOUNTING
1. Taking into consideration fan placement and wire routing requirements, choose a convenient location.
Avoid mounting near HOT engine components.
2. Using the relay bracket as a template, mark and drill a 5/32” hole in the proper location.
3. Using the #10 Sheet Metal Screws provided, install the relay/wire harness.
TIPS: Always disconnect vehicles battery before beginning installation involving your vehicles electrical system.
All 12 Volt Positive leads require the use of the appropriate fuse load rating to avoid damage to your vehicles electrical system.
Always insist on using only high quality components (wire, connectors, and switch) for use in installation of your new Derale
Electric Fan Assembly.

Thermostat Switch Activation

Use adjustable or pre-determined thermostats for automatic fan activation.

Wiring Installation Using Supplied Relays

Relay Connections

Connect red wire to battery, black to ground, orange to fan positive, yellow to switched power.

Optional AC Clutch Connection

Green wire can be connected to AC clutch for automatic fan activation with AC.

Electric Fan Wiring

Connect fan's positive blue wire to harness orange, and negative black to ground.

Troubleshooting

Fan Blowing Wrong Direction

Switch positive and negative fan leads to reverse airflow direction.

Fan Not Turning On

Check connections, grounds, and test fan with direct battery power.
