Overview

The Edge DT800 Money Counter is a sophisticated device designed for fast, accurate, and reliable mixed-denomination and multi-currency note value counting. It is equipped with advanced counterfeit detection functions and various operational modes to suit different counting needs.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Edge DT800 is to count banknotes, providing both the total quantity of notes (PCS) and their total monetary value. It supports mixed-denomination counting (MDC mode), single-denomination counting (SDC mode), and simple quantity counting (CNT mode). The device can handle multiple currencies, including USD, EUR, CAD, GBP, and MXN.

Key features include:

  • Mixed Denomination Count (MDC Mode): Counts mixed denomination notes and provides a detailed report of the total value and quantity per denomination.
  • Single Denomination Count (SDC Mode): Counts notes of a single denomination, using the first note as a benchmark and rejecting others.
  • Count Mode (CNT Mode): Counts the quantity of notes without denomination recognition or advanced detection, suitable for currencies not programmed into the machine or for notes in poor condition.
  • Batch Function: Allows users to create stacks of a specified number of notes. When enabled, a default batch of 200 notes is set, which can be adjusted.
  • Add Function: Enables continuous counting, adding new stacks of notes to the previous total without resetting the count. This can be used in conjunction with the batch function.
  • Sort Function: Sorts notes by face (same side) or orientation (same direction and side), automatically sending non-conforming notes to the reject pocket.
  • Report Function: Provides a detailed counting report, including amount and value per denomination, total quantity, serial numbers (on second press), and error reports (on third press).
  • Speed Adjustment: Users can adjust counting speed levels, with lower speeds generally offering more accurate detection.
  • Thickness Wheel Adjustment: A physical wheel on top of the machine allows for adjusting the note feeding gap, crucial for smooth operation and preventing errors like double bills or chain feeding, especially when counting notes of varying fitness (new, used, polymer, paper).

Counterfeit Detection Functions:

The Edge DT800 incorporates multiple detection technologies to ensure the authenticity of banknotes:

  • Infrared Light (IR): Detects invisible marks in ink that reflect or absorb IR light.
  • Ultraviolet Light (UV): Checks for security markings that glow under UV light.
  • Magnetic Ink (MG): Detects iron oxide present in real money ink.
  • Metallic Thread (MT): Identifies security threads woven into banknotes.
  • Double Dimension (DD): Measures note size (length and width) to detect discrepancies.
  • Double Bill (DB): Detects two notes stuck together based on thickness.
  • Image Detection (ID): Utilizes CIS sensors to detect note authenticity, read denominations, and capture serial numbers.
