Why won’t my Detection Systems Keypad send open or close reports?
    • M
      Michelle GonzalezSep 5, 2025
If the keypad won’t send open or close reports, it is likely not programmed correctly. Check addresses 0320, 0321, 0323, and 0187 to ensure correct programming.

Why am I not getting AC power fail reports from my Detection Systems system?
    • B
      Brian CruzSep 3, 2025
AC power fail messages are sent only with other reports, such as low battery. Also, check the AC report offset (0197). If it's set to 00, the AC report will work as described above. If it's set to another number, the AC report will be delayed. Try forcing another report to send when AC is not present or wait until the delay times out, or set the offset to a lower number if desired.

Why can't I read back history with #89 input on my Detection Systems Keypad?
    • S
      suzannejacobsSep 1, 2025
This could be because you are entering the command from a Master keypad or not using a PIN with test authority. First enter Single Partition Mode, then use a PIN with test authority.

What to do if my Detection Systems Keypad alpha display is locked up?
    • R
      Raymond MarshallAug 29, 2025
If the keypad is enabled, but set as an LED keypad, the alpha display can lock up, even if the keys still function. Enter the program mode at the keypad and input the correct sequence to re-enable it as an alpha keypad. Be careful, as there will be no visual feedback to verify programming until the keypad is properly enabled.

Why doesn't Chime Mode (#7) work on my Detection Systems Keypad when a zone is faulted?
    • C
      Clayton SmithAug 27, 2025
Chime mode may not activate for interior zones, or the keypad isn't assigned to the same partition as the zone being activated. Chime mode only activates for perimeter zones and must be programmed. Also, if a perimeter zone has trouble enabled (trouble on open), the chime won’t work if that zone is opening. The chime will only activate the sounder on keypads that are assigned to the same partition as the zone.

How to fix 'Entry Error: Please Re-enter' on Detection Systems Keypad?
    • P
      ptaylorAug 27, 2025
This error occurs if two or more keypads share the same address, or if the DS7430 or DS7433 is installed in the wrong pins. To fix it, ensure the keypad jumper is properly installed in the back of each keypad and verify that the DS7430 or DS7433 is correctly installed.

Why don't some functions work on my Detection Systems Master Keypad?
    • T
      Tracey KellyAug 25, 2025
Certain functions require you to enter Single Partition Mode when using a Master keypad. The following commands need Single Partition Mode: history read-back, chime mode, checking zone status, checking zone trouble status (after #87, the Master keypad will only show the partition name), and bypassing zones.

What to do if my Detection Systems Keypad displays 'Ready to arm, partition 1' and 'System Fault'?
    • J
      Jeffrey MooreAug 22, 2025
This issue occurs when the keypad is set as a Master keypad in a single-partition system, or due to wiring errors, incorrect partition assignments, or microprocessor malfunction. Program the keypad as a standard keypad, as master keypads are for multi-partition setups only. Check the keypad wiring and assign the keypad to the correct partition. If issues persist, disconnect the battery and any auxiliary power load to check the microprocessor. If the auxiliary power reads approximately 11.5 VDC, the microprocessor may have shut down. Inspect the EEPROM chip for bent pins if it has been replaced; otherwise, the panel might need replacement.
