Troubleshooting Guide
If the fittings will not seal properly:
Check to see if the expander head is screwed
ontightly.
- Tighten thehead.
Check to see if the exapnder head segments are bent
ormisaligned.
- Replace the expanderhead.
Are the expander head segments not properly
contracting between expansions?
- Clean and relubricate the expanderhead.
- Check to see if the expander cone is
properlylubricated.
- Clean and relubricate the expandercone.
Has the fitting been damaged?
- Replace thefitting.
Was the PEX tubing removed while the expander
cone was in the expanded postion?
- Cut 2" (50 mm) from the PEX tubing and restart
theprocess.
Is the PEX tubing and Ring dry?
- Wipe dry with a clean, lint-freecloth.
Is there grease from the expander head inside the
PEX tubing?
- Wipe off all grease from inside the PEX tubing and
relubricate the expanderhead.
The Ring slides during the expansion process:
Is the PEX tubing and Ring dry?
- Wipe dry with a clean, lint-free cloth
Are your hands clean and dry?
- Make sure your hands are clean and dry. Oils from
your hands can lubricate the PEX tubing andRing.
Is the Ring being held properly in place?
- Use your thumb to hold the ring in place for the first
couple ofexapansions.
