    • P
      Pamela HarrisSep 23, 2025
If your DeWalt Nail Gun motor makes a lot of noise when starting, it could be due to a jammed nail with the driver blade stuck in the down position. Use the stall release lever to clear any jammed nails and manually return the driver blade if necessary.

      phillip74Aug 25, 2025
If your DeWalt Nail Gun operates, but no fastener is driven, it could be due to a few reasons. Check if there are nails in the magazine and load them if necessary. Ensure you are using the correct size and angle nails as recommended. Also, inspect the nosepiece and magazine for any debris and clean them if needed.

Why DeWalt DCN692M1 Nail Gun motor does not run with contact trip depressed?
    • C
      Christina DavidsonAug 26, 2025
If your DeWalt Nail Gun motor doesn't run when you depress the contact trip, start by checking if the trigger lock is engaged and unlock it. Another possibility is that the dryfire lockout is engaged, preventing the contact trip from traveling fully; load more nails into the magazine. Also, the tool might be stalled, which locks the motor; rotate the stall release lever to release it. If the driver blade doesn't return, remove the battery and manually push the driver blade back to its home position. Keep in mind that the motor stopping after 5 seconds is normal operation; release and redepress the contact trip.

Why won't the motor run when I press the trigger on my DeWalt DCN692M1 Nail Gun?
    • B
      brittneymartinezAug 27, 2025
If the motor of your DeWalt Nail Gun doesn't run when you depress the trigger, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the trigger lock isn't engaged. If the tool is stalled, rotate the stall release lever. If the driver blade doesn't return, remove the battery and manually push the driver blade back. For sequential actuation mode, depress the contact trip before firing, or switch to bump mode (DCN692 only). Try resetting the tool's electronics by removing the battery for 3 seconds and reinserting it. Note that the motor will stop running after 5 seconds, which is normal operation; release and redepress the trigger to continue.
