Chainsaw Use & Safety Training
Service & Repair
Any person working within a service or repair environment who is required to use a chainsaw
may only do so once he/she has been trained by a certified training manager. This will
include the use of a chainsaw to test a successful repair or to diagnose an initial fault “if” the
tool is to be used to perform a cut. All safety equipment must be worn which includes,
Chainsaw Safety boots, Chainsaw safety trousers, Gloves, Full Helmet and Ear Defenders.
The person may only be permitted to run the chainsaw without the above safety equipment
if the chain bar and chain are removed. All other safety requirements must be observed.
