2. SAFETY
2.1 General
!CAUTION
Carefully read this chapter on safety.
Observe the measures / instructions in this manual.
2.2 Precautions / safety instructions
Carefully observe the following measures/regulations:
Ø
Your fire must be installed by a skilled, recognized installer of wood burning appliances.
Ø
Have the fire installed in accordance with the applicable national, local and constructional (installation) regulations.
Ø
The flue duct must be assessed in advance concerning its suitability for the appliance, and should be inspected
and/or cleaned by a recognized specialist. Have the flue duct inspected and cleaned by a specialist, at least once or
two times per year. Only with a good duct, your fire will perform in a safe and faultless way.
Ø
In case of a combustible floor, you must place a fireproof floor plate under the appliance, which will be available at
your supplier as an accessory.
Ø
Do not make any changes to the fire yourself.
Ø
Only replace parts by original parts.
Ø
Do not perform any work when the fire is still hot, wait at least 24 hours after use.
Ø
Only burn the fire with the recommended fuel, wood briquettes and/or clean and dry wood. Do not use the fire as a
waste incinerator.
Ø
The minimum distance between the fireplace/chimney pipes and combustible objects/materials stated on the data
plate should be taken into account.
Ø
Do not place combustible materials under the appliance.
Ø
Do not allow clothes, towels etc. to dry on and/or near the appliance, in order to prevent fire.
Ø
Avoid contact with a burning fire in order to prevent burns and/or clothes catching fire.
Ø
During use, the outside of the fire will become very hot. Therefore, you should use the supplied oven glove when
operating the fire.
Ø
Never leave children and persons who are unable to judge the consequences of their actions by themselves near a
burning fire.
Ø
Avoid working with solvents, glue, PUR foam, etc. in the room where the burning fire is located.
Ø
The fire is intended as atmospheric heating and is not developed for continuous use as main heating.
Ø
The fire is not suitable for use as a barbecue.
Ø
Make sure that the room where the fire is placed is supplied with sufficient fresh air.
Ø
In case of a fire in the chimney, close the air supply, extinguish the wood fire with sand and call the fire brigade.
Ø
Carefully read chapter 4 ‘Taking into operation’, before you start to burn.
